Another Big Event Announced for Brighton Speedway
In a summer that has a jammed packed schedule filled with big events Brighton Speedway and the Southern Ontario Sprints have teamed up for one more! When the Schedule was release three weeks ago fans and drivers were pleasantly surprised to see the addition of the Watson Building Supplies SOS Show Down in Brighton brought to you in part by Watson Building Supplies, Aaron Auto and Sanderson Automotive! This first year event will be the biggest paying sprint car event in Brighton Speedway and the SOS history with a $2,500.00 cheque waiting for the winner in Victory Lane.
The $2,500.00 to win race will be 25 laps and will start up to 25 cars! Qualifying will be determined by a pill draw and a re-draw for the feature.
"This event will be a great addition to our schedule and we are looking forward to it drawing in a few more cars from the Niagara and Burlington region where sprint cars are so popular" states track promoter Mark Rinaldi. "The SOS has been a staple in the Speedways schedule since 1997 And have always put on a great show and are a great group of guys to work with, now we are just giving a little back!" Rinaldi continues.
Brighton fans love the cars and stars of the SOS series and have filled the stands ever since the first race over 15 years ago. Over the years there have been a number of different winners with Rick Wilson leading the way with 18 and Glen Styres not far behind at 10. Both are fan favourites at Brighton and we anticipate many more battles to the start finish line.
As a special bonus for the fans on this big night fans are able to upgrade their ticket to a full pit pass for just $5.00 more so they can visit the pits and see the cars and race teams up close and personal throughout the night. Advance tickets and pit pass will be available prior to the event.
"This event along with the other marquee events throughout the summer really makes for an awesome schedule, we have Applefest which is now a Super Dirt Car Event, the Labour Day Double Header for the SOS sprints, the $5,000 to win Great Crate Race for Late Models and the new Summer Slam $10,000.00 to win enduro and it is an exciting season ahead of us and I can't wait" Race Director Rob Edgar says.
Joining the SOS Show Down on Saturday July 14th will be the Vanderlaan Building Supplies Pro Late Models, Bainer's Radiator Canadian Modifieds, Brighton Automotive Pro Stocks and the Bill's Johns Comp 4 Divisions.
