The last I heard his car was still in the trailer,
I would almost bet my eye teeth that Al is back at Barrie in LLM!!! He really came on strong in the last six weeks of the season last year and finally got that car dialed in and set up for Barrie after converting it from a Kawartha LM. I think you'll even see a feature win or two from the 69 car this year!! Al is a great driver, and I hazard a guess to say maybe even the best we have at Barrie. I have seen him win so many races in the former Laguenesse late model including many invitationals and finshing 3rd in the Grisdale Triple Crown the one year!!
i reeeeally think its a little strong to call him the best driver you guys have....
he had some good years, but using last year as a guide, he certainly wasnt your best driver
no disrespect to Al, but there are a half a dozen guys up there who are very very good
Ya it might be a strong statement but I stand by it!! I know he struggled a little at the beginning of the season, but the wins in previous years tell the story of just how good he is when hes got good equipment behind him!! And I also said that he MIGHT be the best driver that we have not that he indeed was. None the less hes very pleasant to talk to in the pits and just goes about his business with little fanfare. Just a lil tidbit for all you out there, did you know that AL and Keith McLeod were both rookies in the same season??? I think it was 84, but could be wrong on the year but I'm sure STATSMAN could tell us the exact year both started!!
i do beleive that al started a new business and his racing will be limited.
