We sat in the stands and watched both the Baker trailers pull out . I'm sure Dwayne can answer this himself without everyone assuming what happened . Is this just a one night suspension ? Are you returning to Barrie Speedway ? I figure everyone is just very tired since Dwayne raced at Kawartha Friday night and things will return to normal by next week . Its understandable with such a close points battle , anyone would have been upset .
Another Barrie Champion bites the dust, Wayne did the right thing if you are not happy its simple you have 2 choices stay or go its his descision. The flagman made the call and it was the right one.
Don't know everything for sure that went down. but have bits and pieces.
Baker and Shepherd tangled, and Baker was sent to back for getting into him. He was pissed off. He ran into Shepherd while they were under caution. For this they were going to black flag him for the heat. He wouldn't leave the track after they gave it to him for a few laps. The starter finally got down and stopped him on the track, they exchanged words, then the next thing he's been parked for the night. I like Dwayne, think he's a great competitor and all, but his actions weren't justified. People are pissed off for bad calls that take place every night, but sometimes the drivers are pushing the limits to see what they can get away with as well. They're damned if they do and damned if they don't. If they didn't put him on the trailer for the night for what he was trying to get away with, you'd have 5 more pushing the envelope again next week to see what they could get away with. Sorry to see it happen, but I remember on this site for months everyone was talking about calls that weren't being made, and not enough black flags for things that were happening. Hoping this does not mean that the track has lost the 48 and the 18. Love to watch them race.
Everything you say is True its True,
Who is "Wayne"???
From what I can see and from what I have heard, drivers are getting very upset about inconsistent calls from the flag man and/or the track official (because depending on the week different officials are making the calls). I truly don't want to see the Baker boys leave but then again when you have that much money invested you end up getting fed up with the inconsistent calls from the officials (whats good for one driver one week, it's not for another the next week WTF).
Oh and what was with teching of the late models last night. From the past I have seen llm drivers and their crews taking apart their cars for tech for longer than 3-4 mins. Last night all 3 drivers were given the hand shake with in 4 mins. I am glad all 3 drivers won, however a bit confused about the whole tech thing. I guess the more times you finish 1st, 2nd or 3rd the longer and more involved the teching is or what who knows???
I certainly hope Baker doesn't leave BSW, guess we will all have to wait and see. I heard that 3 of the pure stock drivers are leaving as well because of incidents on the track that are not being dealt with. I think a black flag should have been called in that race last nite as well or at least a warning, before it escalated to the point it did last nite. Consistancy has to be in all divisions. You can't keep changing your flag men and expect consistancy every week, each one sees things differently. Is there a set of rules that the flag person has to follow? I don't know thats why I am asking. Are they suppose to follow the same set of rules, maybe that is where part of the problem lies with what is going on....
3-4 minute teching, hhhmmmm, maybe that had to do with the OSS being there last nite, they would have to push the regulars thru so that they could have the tech shed. Just a guess.
