Well this post has sure taken a different direction. Now back to the origins of the post...
The rumours are now fact, the real dodge did not grace Barrie on the weekend and only 13 late models took the green on Friday.
Much has been written about what happened to McLeod at Barrie. The bottom line is; it wasn't what Walter's did, it was what Barrie officials didn't do that left McLeod with little choice but to leave Barrie. If track officials had black flagged Walter's for ramming him on the caution Barrie would still have it's best car. In fact any sort of admission that they had missed one might have salvaged the whole thing. This was not a matter of McLeod getting what he deserved as 25 racer would suggest. This was an flagrant and wreckless act that should have been called regardless of who was hit or did the hitting.
As far as Gord Coates goes he deserves all the credit for resurrecting the late model division at Barrie Speedway 5 years ago and he just might oversee it's demise. Lethbridge, Watsonx2, McLean, Milligan, McLeod...

He didn't sponsor the championship (S.Q) car from last year, did he? And Gaunt has drivin' there in previous years. I don't think Gord makes too many business mistakes, but to spend $$$$ just to have braggin' rights? Not a money maker.
Does anyone know the story on why he bought Barrie Speedway originally???? It is an interesting story. It "apparently" wasn't done with the best business thought in the beginning, but obviously turned out alright.
Chasinracin dont count the chickens before they hatch! Even though they only have 13 cars its a good chance for anyone. 😛
