DEIFAN - My point was, there is no point in coming on here and stating that Sunset isn't going to have a future. Whatever your reason behind posting this, it doesn't matter, the only thing that does matter is that Sunset is here now, they have a great show and high car counts. What matters is 2004.

We heard hype not that long ago that the mortgage was going to be sold on the property for Sunset and it would be closing. If it happens, it happens. Nothing any of us can do about it so we might as well just enjoy what we have for now and if it closes, then worry about it then.

As for the scorer, yep, you are right. Debbie was very good at her job and well liked by many. It is unfortunate that she got caught up in the politics and felt that she needed to leave Sunset in order to get away from it. That was unfortunate for everyone.

But I am sure that once the new scorer figures out how to do his job, everything will run smooth. He may be a little bit slow right now, but (and what is most important to me) I haven't seen any screw ups with the race finishes. Debbie was great at her job with many years experience, but as the expression goes, everyone can be replaced.

Hi guys! I usually just read these posts and laugh but I couldn't resist posting something myself today!! First of all in regards to Joe's comments about environmental issues behind the speedway on Shakell property, well it has been cleared of any issues the property is being looked at by developers and we are just waiting to hear the outcome.....with large companies it takes time to work out all the details and it could be finalized as soon as spring 2006 with development starting.
Hi Leigh and thanks for the compliments. Leaving Sunset was a hard decision to make but if you were to wear a head set like the rest of us did you would understand the politics involved and only then would you understand.... Although I have to say I miss the people as the majority of them were great to deal with!! But I'm enjoying having a life to venture out and do other things.
As far as the scoring goes I talked to Karen in the tower the other week and she's doing this all on her own and I feel bad for her it's alot of work. Unfortunately for her with scoring you can either do it or you can't, it's not something your taught!! I've tried to teach many people over the years and they end up saying forget it and that's the end of it. So for Karen's sake I hope they find someone to help her out.
In regards to this DEIFAN I'm pretty sure I know who this is and in that case guys he really does know his stuff, as there are things that only selected people know about what will take place in the future and he's one of them......
So people enjoy the races and I'll see ya there once in a while!!

Hey Debbie - Politics are everywhere, my job, your job, the race track and so on.......Its just a matter of whether or not you want to deal with them. If you can still enjoy what you do even with all the politics, then you stay, if you aren't able to still enjoy yourself, then you leave. That is in every aspect of life.

I think that the majority knows who DEIFAN is as well. Whatever happens to Sunset happens. No one can stop it, certainly not anyone here. So, only time will tell.

But the one thing that confuses me is this. With all the doom and the "end of Sunset" coming, I have to ask: Why would Glenn buy a business that was a good chunk of change, put out money, build it into a better business and so on if he has no control over whether or not there will even be in business next year????????? Why would anyone do that? How is it that anyone else has that type of control over HIS business. Is he not the owner of Sunset Speedway? I understand mortgages, property titles and so forth, but I don't understand how his business is going to fall down around his ears and he has no control over it. It makes no sense to me at all. Does this make sense to anyone else?

I never said that the Shakell's had control to do that. What I said is there is a good possibility the land behind it will sell, therefore allowing Glenn the opportunity to do the same. When your dealing with multi - million dollar companies looking to purchase land money is not an issue. When Glenn purchased the speedway he would have had no idea that, the land behind him could or would be sold for development because at that time the Shakell's were dealing with having the land cleared of any environmental issues. Whatever Sunset's fate may be Glenn will still prosper in the end I'm sure.
As far as the politics your right it's everywhere and the point was it wasn't fun anymore. I enjoy being a spectator and complaining about the long restarts etc now lol
Anyway hope that might make more sense!!

Leigh in regards to the DEIFAN he's been at Sunset forever and he's still there I know who it is but I won't say only because this could cause him grief and to be honest he knows I don't care for him but I won't reveal who it is either!! So he knows some things but not detail !!
