In the Lates, Walters will be on a mission to become the first ever to win the Champ 3 years in succession

Didn't Simon Stolte win 5 in a row in the mid-late 80's for Late Models?

Statsman would be the guy to answer that one - because he IS the statsman

I took a look at the Barrie trophy Sat night and while it appears there was a period of time missing on the winners name plates I was just referring to the winners that were actually recorded on the actual trophy. It dates back to the 1965 season in which Vic Parsons was the actual first receipient and the dates run at least into the early part of the 80s, as I remember seeing Don Hawn won back to back in 81-82. But it makes sense what your saying MARCISFAN as the plates that were missing appear to be at the time Simon raced there. While I dont know about 5 in a row I think 5 years in the decade of the 80s is entirely possible for Simon. Ya gotta figure Garry Reynolds would be on there a few times during this missing time period as well. But your right Statsman is the one to ask!!!! Rod if your out there can you enlighten us bud?????

MR. GREASE MONKEY,I'm sure John would do an excellent job for me, that I will not question, however , in my opinion, I think I should have the right to choose another reputable builder without giving up my benefits to using a sealed motor. ie not pulling it apart in a tech shed at the end of a long night. That is all I meant by that comment. Their our a lot of other good people outhere trying to help keep our costs down and still keeping us racing well, and I for one believe they should get a chance at the work, otherwise we would be just legends who can only buy parts from one supplier or Cascar teams that our forced to buy body panels off of the same guy that just sold these teams(in principal) to Nascar.

thats the whole problem with the crate motor program it should only be one builder so that it can be kept above board much easier. If way to many builders become involved a whole new can of worms gets opened up.
