mini stock tires

For all the people that complained about certain cars running with the Yokohama A048....and that they couldn't afford those tires.... and wanted a "spec tire" for everyone...way to go...the price difference for the Falken Azenis compared to the Yokohama..is only $15..... for 4 new tires from Action Tire.... to race the season... is going to cost about $700...to start for the RT205 50 15 .. without spares... about the same...almost as the Yokohama....and about the same price as a Late Model tire....  so what was the point on making a big deal about "tires"...now everyone has to spend all that money..for what.... just cause someone had better tires than someone else...
racing is suppose to be fun...and everyone has their "budget" to spend on their cars.... but some drivers have different ideas on where to spend their "budget" on...and just because a few drivers thought "tires" made a difference... now everyone has to spend that kind of money on tires just to start racing......glad I can get them somewhere cheaper  🙂

How do you figure that a set of Azenis are only $15 cheaper than the "Cheater" Yokos? And clearly you must have lots of money to have those Yokos due to the fact that they are a 60 compound and only last one night as opposed to the Azenis that last all season.. Even two seasons.
And the fact that every car has to run a spec tire is great. It keeps the cost down (all you have to do is buy a set of tires at the beginning of the year) and it also keeps the field on level ground. Maybe, on any given night, anybody can win. The next thing is that there should be a cost limit on your engine.. People are going out to pay 4 or 4 grand on a motor to win what?? $250? Things dont add up here..
If you are complaining about tires, and have the money to buy the Yokos, then move up a division!!! The mini stock class is for BEGINNERS!! IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE A CHEAP ENTRY LEVEL CLASS!! All the guys that spend 4 or 5 grand on their motor alone, while other guys have 4 or 5 grand into their entire car, REALLY brings down the fun factor in this division...
Just my two cents on this topic as I think it is stupid.....

At the meeting I believe it was said that Action Tire with a Nascar License would sell for $99.75 or $94.50 depending on which of the 3 available models you chose.  That adds to $450.87 with tax or $427.14 with tax.  Are you saying that they are not available for the promised price?

Thanks,

i don't know what you paid for your tires....but i paid $165 for my Yok's .... i don't spend a ton of money in the motor... and not much on the car... but the 14 year old boy ran that car last year ..better than some of the veterans ... and they blamed the "tires"....
I am NOT complaining about tires...simply stating a fact...yes... spec tires are a good thing...that way ... no one can complain.... some people spend their money on tires...and others...spend their money on motors.... when you spend your money on a "good" tire...and run a wrecker motor.... and run better.....thats where the complaints start...... so..problem solved...everyone will have the same tires.....and you can spend the rest of your "budget" on whatever you want...but last season..the biggest complaint was "tires".... now everyone can start to complain about the cost of the "spec" tire and they have no money to put into their motor......
you say there should be a cost limit to what you spend on your engine.....well...what is the difference where you spend your money..engine... tires... like YOU said...it's suppose to be a "CHEAP ENTRY CLASS"......  why "cap" anything.... you can afford what you can afford.... period... and where you spend your money is up to you as long as it is legal..... we spent our money on tires last year, for safety reasons... not the motor...that cost us $300 from Carcones auto wreckers...for a motor.. and put 3 motors in for the season.... maybe people should shop around for tires... and motors...
but... as you said...its an entry level ... fun factor.... there should not be so much b.s...for something that is suppose to be fun....its racing..and if your not happy...go to JYD......

Yes...that is what they told me 2 days ago...i asked if that was the speedway discount.... apparently there was a "price problem".... it took 2 days for them to get back to me and that was the price they quoted me... $149 a tire...plus tire tax...plus gov't tax.......
