My question is simple and hoping STATSMAN still comes here from time to time and can provide the answer.. Was Joe Belesky ever a BSW champion?? Jimmy seems to think he won the Late Models in 79, but I think it was Herb Erb that won that year..Could of been 80 Herb won as well, but I'm almost positive it was 79.. Any help would be appreciated!! I'll see the original trophy with all the winners in 3 weeks time so it will be solved then but I'm hoping for definitive answers sooner.. 😀

He was indeed.  Joe's late model championship was in 1983, and I'm pretty sure it was decided on the last night...could be wrong, I was just a wee tot then!

AHHH thanks PETTY FAN 45, now you I do believe.. Interesting you mentioned 83 cause I think on the trophy there's a gap in plates covering a 3 year time period where the trophy was lost (so legend goes).. It goes from Don Hawn's back to back titles in 81-82 to the first of Simon Stolte's 5 in a row beginning in 1986.. So the years 1983-84-85 are missing if memory serves.. So the champ that first year was Joe Belesky thats why his name isnt on the trophy.. All makes sence now!! 😉

Gotta excuse the man they call "The Prince' though for his bad memory thinkin Joe's title was 79..I hear its the water up there in Carthew Bay..Known for its fading of brain cells and leavin ya a severe case of shrink dink!!!  😮 flmao

OHHHH am I dead when Jimmy gets a hold of me Sat night for that crack!!! ;D

I can't remember the year, but I know he won it, and I believe it came down to between Joe and Paul Hetherington out of Orillia that year.
