the tech took the head cause they dont know the specs, even though they have had 2 racing at the track all year....

either way it will pass, the engine had never been opened b4...

I just have to comment as a fan who sat nice and high in the turn 4 stands on Sunday...btw, great show by all!!
First of all, folks like me wouldn't have any knowledge of this "controversy" if so many who are closely or directly involved didn't choose to air it all on Canada's most popular local racing forum!! I really don't get why it's so important for all of us to hear all this stuff!! And before we get to "...if you don't like it...", many of us read most threads looking for wheat among the chaff, so it's hard to miss. Having said all that, from where I was sitting it didn't look like the 21 car was very hungry for that championship, so whatever happened down back afterwards, they lost on the track. That's racin'. Better luck next year.

1. It has already been said in this post that to win a championship you have to lose one.  Maybe that also means learning how to lose and maybe the next time you might win or you might know better how to lose.

2. Congratulations to Billy who I've not heard anyone say a bad word about all season and who went out and drove himself to a Championship without bowing to pressure of any kind. Looks like they've got two racers in the Melenhorst family and the pressure is on big brother now 🙂

3. I would like to have confirmation that Joan Howard was the Barrie Champion. My records out of a program from the 1965 season with what I believe to be the final points for the Powder Puff Division (and let's see a male try to win in that class boys and girls) show that Joan Howard tied with Jo Cresswell. Both had 18 points for the season but Cresswell had 5 feature wins compared to Howard's 2. I would think that either both got their names on the trophy or that if they used a tie-breaker then Cresswell would have gotten the nod with more features.

I'll likely have to ask nephew Billy to see if he knows now that my curiousity is piqued.

4. I believe we are still looking for the first Barrie female champion where the men and women race in the same division. Maybe next year.
