I guess I should clarify...

I thought that it must have been disapointing for the #2 to have to stay all night to tear down when he should have been enjoying his much deserved win IMO if you want someone tore down because you are unsure if they are legal then I think it should have been done prior to the last race of the season.  again that is just my opinion. However the Walt team has every right to do this, I just looked at it as a pretty shitty way to be celebrating!

As far as teching goes, if everone has to pull heads, fine. But to put up the money to have someone tore down comes completely from spite and jealousy. And thats in any class. You are basically saying " theres no way you could beat me straight up, the tech staff are P.O.S's for not doing there job well and FU, heres 5 hours of labour and 200 dollars worth of gaskets in headaches and oil leaks, all because I'm a prick whiner sore loser."  Yeeeeah, I'm not such a big fan of protests. I just think it's a bad way to try to win, by tearing someone down on the last race of the year. Kinda like grabbing at straws...

If you believe that someone's car is illegal then you should protest. Protests should not be used to randomly aggravate someone who you are having a tight points race with. I always believed that if you are going to protest someone you should get torn down too. In the U.S. they have the "claim" rules where you can claim someone's engine for $700 or something. Engines move around a lot in the IMCA class and everyone races for fourth so they don't lose their engine. Be happy we don't have that here.

It's not about being dirty but it is very poor sportsmanship and not in good taste on the very last night IMHO. It is not admitting you lost graciously...

For most occasions this year competitors have been very sportsmanlike. This is kind of unusual for racing which is nice to see... Just a few incidents of unsportsmanlike behavior.
