St.Onge sounds way to french to me. What was wrong with Barrie Speedway. Now I have to go out and buy another t-shirt. The word St.Onge spelt backwards is egnots, which in french translated to english means- no eggs- which would mean that Barrie Speedway will no longer be serving breakfast sandwiches.
Now I understand ??
lol.
The name “Delaware Speedway Park” if I recall lasted into the year 2000. It did have some staying power, I still hear it from time to time. I even think that the sign over the front gate still says "Delaware Speedway Park".
Heh...yeah, but the only people that ever referred to it as that were the announcers. (And we know they're a strange lot.)
For everyone else, it is and always has been just Delaware Speedway. Well, except for the beginning when it was Brodie's. I don't know what they called it then.
I suggest it will be the same at Barrie.

My research with the ongoing Delaware Speedway History Project indicated that the original name was:
"Brodie's Delaware Speedway: The Action Packed Clear View Track".
Once again we've hijacked a Barrie thread with our Delaware business :D.

Not really. The point is, no matter what they called our track over the years, everyone just called it "Delaware" The same will happen with Barrie. The naming organization will get their little writeoff and people will go on calling it Barrie.
I'm pretty sure I never heard anyone refer to Flamboro as Lucas Oil Flamboro Speedway either...except in ad copy.
As far as Brodie's goes, youre right about the title. You can find that in an old newspaper. (IIRC, the logo had a track around it with a little car powering around) What I want to know is not so much what was written on the sign...I'm wondering what the people called it back in the 50s.
Guess this one kinda fell by the wayside didn't it.....
Should chalk this one up to MYTH BUSTED!
By the way - that girl on MythBusters - is super hot.
