So do divulge boys.. What was in this questionaire they had given out in the tech shed??? Did it relate to Friday or Sunday racing at all??

$100 for car, driver and 4 crew to get in. $18 or something to get 10th in the TC feature. And if a reasonable number of fans showed up the payouts wouldn't get boosted, the Speedway would "make money". If you can't cover the fuel costs "only" for the car, not to mention investment in the car, upkeep, hauling fuel, tires, food, gate, etc... Why bother? If 10th won't pay for your pit entrance, what's the point?

Couldnt agree more Tex!!! While no one races to make money, it still has to be somewhat worth while, and the way you described that it wouldnt happen for our racers.. So I dont blame the guys for not wanting to run Sunday's under those circumstances.. Plus you gotta consider the families that give up their Saturday's to watch /help the drivers race, so some might just want to do other things away from track as well on a selected Sunday

Now if they want drivers to assume most of the financial risk in racing on a Sunday, why not them share in the profits for the well attended shows like NCATS and flea market weekends??.... My guess is they wouldnt go for that, so why do they expect the drivers to?? Although this was a questionaire so all they really did was ask, but still I cant believe they thought that idea would fly.

I still say make the Sunday show good enough and the fans would come, making this a moot point..That year end Thunder Car deal last year is a perfect example. They make the rules to favor the Barrie cars (and like minded tracks) pretty much negating the Sauble cars (unlimited cams) and Delaware/Flammy guys running the 602 from coming and bringing their crews and fans with them.. All invitationals like that should be HOME TRACK RULES and especially at Barrie, because the higher powered cars dont have any real advantage just due to size and tightness of the track..I dont know who wrote the rules for that event( possibly Brian Thomas ) but when that rule package came out it was destined for failure and was no where near as big as it could of been.. Also heard your teamate Ron Mace had some input for the rules for that event, and I'd be curious to know if that was the case.. Whoever it was gave the Barrie owners some very bad advice on how to properly run an INVITATIONAL!!

;D thats it dave you win prize, they asked if we would be willing to pay 100 for the car, driver and 4 crew on a sunday that way they would not take the whole loss if no fans showed

I love that request! As drivers and car owners we take the piss week in and week out.

Sauble for me I think!!! LLM 100 lapper and the TQ Midgets!!! Have never seen the vast majority of the Sauble LLM race and they have some strong runners. Plus I think a few Barrie LLM will be going, and Sauble has beer in the grandstands!!!LOL

Also heard through the grapevine that several of the lates from Barrie will be making the trek to Sunset that day as they like what the new management group is doing. Should be an awsome show.
