just to clarify, install a SL1 straight up, Isky did the work so we dont have to lol ( I believe they are ground on an advance already, but don't quote me)

Btw Wesley its the other way, Advancing a cam helps low end, while retarding helps high end (normally over 6000-6500) on a small chevy any how...

and yes, my bad you did say that lol. but you also said there is many ways around it, so my point is why bother? there are alot of other ways to keep things in check, you can only run so big of cam till everything else is limited...but if you still wanna limit thunder cams,I personally like the vacuum rule.....many different combos for engine builders, and an easy yes or no in the tech shed....

Oops, excuse my dyslexic moment... yes true: advance = low end power increase - retard helps straightaway top end power increase.

Well - that's why Rhoads lifters were invented 🙂 - but that's another story (good and bad).

As for a 'best' rule - I think one of them for handicapping is a rev limiter but there are so many stories about that too ! Some racing sanctions have gone to the extreme of handing out the ignition box chips to prevent tampering from a pool of them - supplied by the teams and then redistributed and sealed by tech officials. In otherwords - it's impossible to get your own chip back 🙂 The Maritimes CarQuest series is one example. See section 8.3
