Nothing negative here, Im not bashing Barrie Terri - Lynn, Its just poor marketing and it if you look, it was started by a Barrie Speedway Die Hard???
It was started by an ex Simcoe County diehard who got sick of all the two faced Barrie haters who welcomed the Barrie cars back in the day when Sunset was lucky to have 14 Thunder Cars finish a feature.
The same people who think Hooters girls being in the pits every night of the year EXCEPT the one Wild Wing sponsored event is such a bad thing. So I guess that since Barrie Mitsubishi and Davenport Subaru are paying sponsors at different times of the year that is somehow bad for their respective businesses and the speedway? Nascar takes money from Coke and Pepsi, so what? I would too if someone is handing it out.
I'd pay good money to have my advertising right next to (or a few miles down the road) from my competitors. When I was in the taxi business the rival taxi company painted their cars to look like the company I was affiliated with to steal a few customers, hey you gotta do what you gotta do. At least some people get mad about that billboard I think it's funny.
Say Sunset puts a billboard on HWY11 right before the cutoff at line 8 and it says "Sunset Speedway!! Full Fields Every Night! Turn around and head south to Innisfil Beach Road!",
You should include "You will be late and miss half the show". ;D
i kinda agree with jr on this one! barrie guys would flip if sunset put a sign down the road from barrie. i'm not a business man but i do believe it to be in poor taste. when everybody learns to play together the sooner all will benefit. i love my speedway and i'm glad they are promoting it. how about some tv advertising or some more radio ads, not a sign that insults our friends to the south. jmo!

If it was on the way to sunset in either direction I would agree but its not. If sunset was to post a sign after Barrie heading north it would be the same thing as positioning of barrie's sign in comparison.

If this is the case (haven't seen it) then I see no problem with it at all...it isnt poaching anything..
