all you had to do was look at 06Z nam and the radar and it wasnt too hard of a call....all the forecasters do is what i do, look at the different models, take into account their strengths and weaknesses and then formulate a forecast from that....I do agree with Charlie...the gloomy, dull day wouldn't have brought anybody but the diehards out...
Well Thayner you got it right again. I think there is a hidden talent within you. If you could start on lets say, Friday giving us a report on the weather we would all be ready for the let down on saturday. When it comes to weather you are the man. From the CRO web sight it,s the man himself up to date weather forcasts with the flying #14 MR. THAYNE HALLYBURTON, stay tuned.
Ya its a pretty tough sell to get the fans out to sit in wet bleachers.. There is a covered grandstand but no doubt those seats would go quick.. and on a night like last night if they do decide to race and get say 10 races in and dont run the final three features or such the fans would feel jipped!! Its really a no win situation when facing a weather forcast as the one yesterday was supposed to produce.. Sucks for the racers, but then again so would torn up equipment..But with Sunset, Varney, Mosport, and likely Sauble all cancelling last night we might of drawn a nice crowd of "die hards" in both the fan and racer dept.. But its water under the bridge now!!!... Pardon the pun...LOL The show next weekend should be great though... Bring on sunny skies and 30 degree temps please!!!
this in my opinion was the one shot that bBSW had at atytracting cars from around the area with their grace nights....Sunset cancelled at 1, if Barrie then came on and said we are definitely going racing any out of town cars are welcome, we may have actually had a car count...
they needed to take a risk.....they didnt....look where playing it safe has gotten them thus far...
as an aside, Zero whever time will allow as I work until 530 Fridays, I will come on and do a little forecast5..if the weekend looks iffy in simcoe county i will definitely come on and share my thoughts...my weather knowledge was all self taught, any one of you can learn....it has been about 7 years in the making...still waiting for my first storm chase of the year..last year my first one was June 25th, was hoping to beat that this year.
Great Thayne, will be looking for it on Friday evening.
