I was kind of thinking a driver's association to meet with Speedway management and staff (like hill3 suggested, thanks hill3) would be a good idea... The drivers go to the association rep with concerns, and the speedway takes general concerns to the association. Any direct problems like protests and suspensions, disciplinary actions would still be between the two parties and the association would have very little input into that, unless they thought someone was being treated unfairly. The problem with not being able to have your voice heard is that sometimes everyone is shouting something different, so then the message is not heard obviously. I would think the association should meet with representitives from the speedway every week or two during the racing season, have coffee and talk about issues that each party may have. Association reps have their ear to the ground, and know what the drivers are saying and the feelings around the track and can let the Speedway know what people are saying without identifying who said what. It's an idea, but dedicated people are needed  to be reps who can take the time to do this job properly and can work without bias, they have to forget about their racing alliances and treat all the drivers equally...

no prob. thunder6. if you guys and gals decide to try it just remember to give it time to grow and mature. mistakes will be made and it will not always happen because of bias it is just a mistake most times. if you do catch some body using the system for self advancement step on them hard. yorkkie sound like a good pick to help, informed and passionate wrt to racing.

i'll be a driver's rep!!! But next year of course when i have more time to deal with things of that sort as I will be out of the drivers seat for the year! I think that would be a great idea. And yeah new things tend to have setbacks and mistakes can be made but instead of many yelling their heads off about different things the track can deal with them one at a time and we as drivers can hear what the track is trying to say as well without making anybody feel pointed out!

Yes each division would have their own rep. That rep would take the concern and discuss it with the other reps for some input, then the concerns would be taken to the track for discussion and solutions. With everyone not yelling at everyone, discussions could take place as well as change to benefit all drivers in all divisions. It has a long way to go even if we can get it into place, but the more imput we get in this the better. This is an idea thats needs imput from everyone, and the drivers at the track would have to want it. This is the only way that I can see the track even listening to us. So lets brainstorm this and see what we can come up with guys. This would benefit all drivers.
