Not trying to be an idiot here but there was some unusual events involving flags in both the Thunder Car feature and the Charger class too. There was some contact and certain people got put to the back and not others... I think everyone can agree that consistency and fairness is all that most of us want... And I got to see it all this Saturday since my connecting rods "exited stage left" ;D
In the Charger class there was no contact made but I could see how a call might have been missed on that one. Admit the mistake and try to correct it. That I believe is what happened with awarding points for last place.
Not to criticize the BSW staff, I'm sure they are trying and they can't see everything all of the time... but again consistency and fairness should be the benchmark to aim for... and from my viewpoint, that didn't happen. I don't think it would have affected the events in the TC division much, #49 had the car to beat on Saturday and the #00 and #44 were too far back, but it is a very tight points battle and it just got tighter, Flying Frank is right there now too.
Everyone knows that what we post here is read by officials from BSW. If people are on here saying throw the black at everything that moves an inch outside the lines, chances are the Speedway officials are going to read that and consider it. I feel that we are lucky enough to have the Speedway officials reading what is posted and considering it. It shows they care about what you and I think about the competition at BSW...
On that note I have seen great improvement in Crystal Doucette's driving since the start of the season. Next year will be a good one for her if she keeps improving the way she is.
I wasn't by any means coming on here and picking on Chrissy. I mentioned to Lisa that when I was behind her, we came out of 4 (Just after Chrissy passed me) and the flagsman was warning her with the black flag. I noticed Chrissy had her car running in the middle of the yellow line on the front stretch, Was she maybe going high before the corner to cut low?? I am just stating a fact since I was behind her and saw what the flagsman did for that race, not picking on her. I realize she was spun out by Mitch. It was too bad that it happened (and I don't mean that sarcastically). If someone can't come on here to state a fact without getting accused of bashing her, then why post anything?? In case it wasn't seen in the post, I complimented Chrissy for her improvements, I always tell her she is doing awesome, and racing school did help her a lot, everyone noticed how well she was doing afterwards. Anyways, I give up on this site. All it is, is causing fights with people I don't wanna be fighting with, for answering other peoples questions and starting arguements that weren't intended to be started. I apologize that I wrote the whole Heat. For the time I was behind her, that is what I saw. I believe she was spun on the last lap as the checked flag was dropping. So I was behind her for majority of the race. I didn't see anything in the feature with her, that is why I didn't mention anything about it. I admitted that I was the one that got into Crossman that cut down his tire as I was pushed up into the wall with him next to me, steered away from it, and got into the side of him. It was either him or the wall, even as I lifted off the gas...I went over to him and apologized afterwards. I believe I also mentioned in another post, maybe the flagsman should have just talked to her after not black flag her. You should know I wouldn't want Chrissy to have any bad experience racing. The posts were not intended to have you write what you did. Just to discuss what happened and maybe make it so the new drivers are guided a little better to make it a nice learning experience for them.
someone may need to clarify what LANE means most drives give up the outside in the corners and the inside on the straights. if your car is faster than mine then pass me there, i believe it is a myth and just plain wrong to tell some one they must hold the inside or outside for the whole lap.
I think being aware of what's going on around you and giving racing room to your competitors is the way to go, but that's my opinion only...
If nobody was passing her the whole track is the line. Remember if your front bumper isn't up to the other drivers door its not your line its still the others line and the driver trying to make the pass is supposed to back out of it. Brad Moran told everyone in one of the drivers meetings.
