Moneyless Saturdays
PERFECT! Or "My Cheap Money Pit"... ;D ;D
i hope the rumours aren't true, the last thing we need is a bunch of quick buck business men screwing with our sport. i truly hope not but i see barrie going to the shits!!!!! i wonder if gordie coates can come and save us again?
Maybe they should send some delegates to some of the more successful US short tracks like Thunder Road or Bowman - Gray and see what really works and stop worrying about selling beer. If the show sucks then you won't sell any beer ;D
There is no need to send a delegation to either Thunder Road or Bowman Grey to figure out why they are successful tracks .
Bowman Grey adult admission $ 10 kids $ 1
Thunder Road adult admission $ 9 kids $ 3
Once a month Ladies get in for $ 1 at Thunder Road .
Bringing your own food in coolers welcome at both tracks or you can buy a Hot Dog for 2 bucks .
Check out almost any of Ontario's dirt tracks , they all seem to be run better then their asphalt counter parts .
Now that you mention it, I was very impressed by Merrittville... and I never even got around to the stands side...
I think getting back to the roots is a great idea... but I am realistic too. It's all about the money now I'm thinking. Unfortunately in this era of TV and Internet I can't see making really big gains in getting new fans in the stands unless big changes are made.
Allowing fans to enjoy an inexpensive evening without the owners worrying about boosting concessions sales would be a great start in my opinion.
