I got a 325 IOU for 6th Jim. But Nascar paid 200 of that as what the tier 2 pays for 6th place in 2010. I am a little annoyed that Barrie Speedway only chipped in 125. seems kind of low to me. Hence the reason for 2011 that the speedway should post the points fund on the website with nascar + barrie speedway = total points fund for each position. Also hence the reason i am saying up the points fund money in the other 2 divisions as well. 12K to win LLM championship and peanuts compared to that for the other 2. Should be at least 3-4K to win Thunders and maybe 1500 or so for minis at very least. I am one of those guys that maybe if they paid out a few more bucks i may be able to figure something out for next year a little easier.
Oh I am looking for a ride in a thundercar or LLM. If anyone has a car and wants it on the track I would gladly race in 2011. I don't tear up equipment. I just wanna race and winnings are all yours.
No offence, and I do mean none......I used to not worry about the money either from 2000-2005, mall shows, nice looking car, new Hoss motor every year.......
Then I moved out and had all my own shit to worry about. Now I run my race team (if u can call it that) more like a business, I need a certain amount of pay to cover the gas in the car, pickup, entry, food, and any extra damages.
I didnt run practice in 2009 because of wasted gas and burnt up tires cost, I was amazed at the year I had on a strict budget. If we had a flat, we were debating loading it.........only had one last year, borrowed a tire from Brad Holden.
And you may be wondering about Bristol, that I borrowed, as stupid as it is, I just HAD to do it!
This is why I bitch about the class getting out of hand, no tech, and the payouts. NO I DONT RACE FOR THE MONEY, BUT I SHOULD NOT LOOSE MY SHIRT OVER IT EITHER.
Well said Charlie, I too had all sorts of money (and a late model) when I lived at home. Now that life got under way things are a little differant. With all that strict budgeting you put your self on you still seemed to make alot of specials and that tells me you are
truly passionate about this sport. Can you make Kawartha on Friday nights? You should come out and play with us," old" cars like yours still run up front here. I can even lend you a trailer for the season if it would help. It's an open offer to you if as spring roles around you have a change of heart.
Thats an awsome offer Dan! I just have to get a welder working now lol, just when I get the idea to fix er up, im told im gonna have problems getting parts for this master-crap welder. Hope I can fix it and not have to buy another one, thats NOT in the budget. Neither was going to Flammy lol.
Car is outside now to, lost the other side of our shop so Im working while the weather is nice outside till it snows, then its tarp time till spring.
But thats nothing I guess, I put the floater for Bristol in the car outside in the snow in March while it was shoved in the corner of the bush outside, till I could get it to Stoyans shop.
This past year was the first time inside a shop all winter it was nice.........makes it hard to go backwards again lol.
KD would be kool, Andy is always after me to come out, id run Peterborough a few times if theyd get thunders back.
not to be a dick thayne, BUT when you and you alone are footing the bill for your race program then you can tell me that payouts and points funds aren't important!! christ, we used to get bigger trophies for heat wins. none of these cars are cheap anymore and alot of cars don't even show now. 12-15 cars a night in our division is a shame compared to even 3 years ago when we had 20-28. scrap plastic is worth shit but a dollar is still worth a dollar! my only complaint with barrie this year was the points fund and that is all! alot of guys have more money in their thunders than a llm (that alone is wrong), its about time they realize that maybe pay your most popular division the money they deserve and quit feeding a dead horse. 12,000 to win late model with 7 cars and probably 1000 to win the thunders, that is the most insulting thing i've heard in a long time. i'm not saying barrie has to do the same as sunset but at least mark and the gang see the big picture and realize that all the divisions are important. better yet, next year up the payouts, forget the trophies and i'll buy my own. you can get a pretty cool trophy for 50 bucks!
