flammy guy, getting back into racing!! why should guys sell cars that cost 15,000 to build foe 3000 charlie? its about time people started getting almost .50 cents on the dollar. guys selling championship thunders for 3500 turn key is what started this shit years ago. when they had 5000 in the motor alone!????????
I agree the cars are worth the money Jim, but I just dont see how people can buy them, and for racing for crappy payout.
Maybe if I fix it up and put the body back on it who knows, I just cant see gouging people for it. I sold that old car I had before yours for to Mike for 1,000. It got him going, and I thought that car was worth keeping.
And I think I bought yours for 3,000 or something like that, and it was crem-da-la-crem at that point. And was for a while after that.
I hope they can see a future in a street stock class. I can run as a superstock and compete with them guys, but I dont see a body steping in to but the brakes on all this, plus they need TECH again. Dont tell me these motors are legal.
Look at Dave Ducette, $3500? did he finally sell it? Shit look at the money there. Charlie your right they need tech. You get a few cheating then the rest competing to keep up. If they inforced the rules how many 6 inch lightwieght motors would there be in thunder. The 2 most important people at a racetrack are the flagman and the tech guys in my opinion.

Lets put it this way, when Larry was pullin me 2 car lenghts down the shoot 2 years ago I thought that was mental, well in the special at Sunset it was 3 lenghts! All Larry had was roller rockers to my knowledge, these must go deeper to not be caught under the valve covers.
Id love to get in as tech hand, id order pizza, shut the doors, and have em weigh the crank, rod, piston assembly on a fine scale. Id weigh valves to!
When all cars are in their trailer and out the gate by 10:45 pm and they left under their own power, what could they have checked? ??? cam lift, rockerarms, carb throat size and part number, BIG FAT DEAL!! I doubt very much they even check for 9.1 anymore! ill buy the cherry picker if theyd use it!
