Thayne if you had to build at least three good engines every season instead of one really good one and a backup that would kinda suck. If they put a claim engine rule in it would have to be a fair dollar value. My engine builder told me a minimum of $2000 short block with core. Plus heads etc... A crate is $3200 roughly so the claim should be at least $2500. Then nobody would do it. Whatever way you put it the guy with the deepest wallet still wins.
true enough....thats the nature of the beast i guesse...
Make the tech man a real bulldog who has got some chompers and is hungry for cheaters. If you read the article about Smokey Yunick that Pinecrest so graciously provided the link to, he says that cheaters who run big motors are not cheaters they are just unimaginative. I could pull the Big Block outta my truck and run that too. It doesn't take a lot of brains to find a big cam or call up the stroker crank company.
Dear Pinecrest, just so you know right off the bat, this is Brandon's Mom. Maybe you should identify yourself, because I can't believe the lies!!! $6,800.00 for the engine ha ha I wish we had that kind of money, why don't you get your facts straight before you shoot off your mouth. I guess you are another one of those "jealous" drivers that can't believe a 14 year old can kick their butt!! I happen to think my son did amazing driving the llm against veteran drivers, and no its not illegal either, since it hasn't been changed since Tim drove it and was "teched" last year, but I am sure you will have something to say about that as well as you seem to know it all. Why can't you just credit a kid with good driving.
Dear Wattie, Pinecrest doesn't seem to know anything else but knocking everyone else, acussing everyone of cheating, and you are right, since he seems to know so much he should identify himself, truth is I am sure if he did, he wouldn't stand a chance on the track.
Your son did amazing Saturday nite, and you should be very proud of him, he is going places and as I said before, I'm sure Nascar will be knocking on his door in a couple of years. He definetly has a great future in racing. I hope to see more of him in the llm next weekend.
