well I was asked to do this so I will every Monday or Sunday....work is voring so its no big deal! lol...

The night started off with a lovely high pressure system settling in over southern ontario creating a great night to go short track stock car racing in ontario. The cheaters meeting (inside joke) went off without a hitch and i must say fellas i learned alot, we should do it again...lol...

Now to the exciting racing that Barrie Speedway is known for. The night started off with the charger feature and by all accounts it was the Mike Woodward show again. This car is lightning quick, if he ever finds a handle on it, it is a top 10 'A' car. They were 3 wide through all the corners on numerous times and put ona great show. I missed the end of it because i had to work on my car, but the first half was great racing. If crystall doucette finds her racing line, she will capture a feature in the coming weeks for sure. That car is FAST. A shout out goes to Tia Dale, who was in an accident (yes another bad one) in the second heat i believe, whee she piled into the turn one fence, and she was taken to the hospital with a bad gash on her knee. It did require stitches, but she should be back out soon enough. A job well done again to the chargers....

The Pure Stock 'A' feature was last to run and, not to toot my own horn, but i was leading the first five laps and got trunked hard...and made the best save I ahve made..lol...it might not have been that outta shape, but it felt like it....regardless i had fun finishing 13th after getting kinda screwed over on a restart where two cars in front of me forgot to hit the gas. BRYAN PENNY!!! had an amazing run, finishing third, with Dave and Beau Burrows going 1,2...ever since Dave got that new motor built 3 weeks ago, that thing has been a rocket ship. Shout out to Gipper who started almostlast and came through the field admirably....by this time i was getting a pretty good look at the going on...lmao....Bryce watson, Brandons younger bro was in his pure stock and did well....he was a lil too racey at times and as a result i think Tom milligan put the bumper to him just in front of me and spun him...but he should be proud of himself for racing a good race. Those Watson boys can wheel. Great job to all...hopefully the #17 of Dan Little can get back out soon...he broke a disc in half in his back so he will be out of commission for awhile apparently.

In the Thunder car feature Ben Lidstone put them all to shame running 3 tenths fast than Doucette, Davey and St. Onge. The first half of the race I missed, but i got there as ben was leading and Davey and Doucette were right behind. Darryl St. Onge was mired back in traffic and it took him too longto get by the 72 and get into the battle for second. 6 cars retired, not including Thunder Car driver extraordinaire Luke Gignac who broke an intake bolt off in practise and couldn't make the green. This was a not so exciting race for first, but Davey and Doucette were going at it for second. Doucette was faster as he could get to Davey's bumper at will, but just could not find a way bye Flyin' Franky. Doucette would finish fourth a quarter track behind those two. Lidstone was running consistant 15.8's and the other three were running 16-16.2....that was on my watch anyways.

The Late Moel feature was one filled with excitement as it would see the start of a new generation of driver....not even old enpough to get his learners permit in Alberta he would strap in behind a beast of a car and go at it with some of the best short track racers our province has to offer. Remember for arguments sake, i said some of..not THE best....lol...The 14 year old kid did a superb job making contract only a couple times, which is understandable. Seems like an odd weekend to start him off though. The midseason 50 lapper?!?! not what I woulda done...lol....Anyways to the race. Mike Brown would get to the lead rather early as his competitors st6arted further back and he would not look back in capturing the feature...he was really not contested the whole race, a great job for them boys. I didn't get to see the finish as i was strapping in, but i heard it was nothing special. McLeod started really far back and got through the field clean, except for the bump he got from Brandon Watson.  Baker would run second but didn;t seem to have anything for Brown on this night, with Keith rounding out the top 3.  Darrin Malcolm made his return and again banged up the front of his car, but went fromt he very back to a respctable 7th. Darrin and Keith are my favourite drivers to watch, thats kinda why write about them...cause i am usually watching them...lol For all of you McWhirter fans, I can tell you that his car looked very sharp once again tonight but he could only fight his way up to 9th.

We had 17 LLM's take the green tonight, which is the best field since the debacle that was June 13th. Its alot better watching racing whith a full field of cars that are running fast times....14 cars was not really doing it for me....not gonna lie....

Well thats basically my terrible report....yes i am a journalism major, but its hard to write when i didn;s see a full race just different halves of them....critique me if you want, but just be forewarned...i will ahte you forever...lmao...check yah later guys!

complete results.
