I also wanted to let ppl know that at the drivers meetings the owners, represented by dave simpson, had a large 15+ minute speech regarding what they feel has to happpen to mkae BSW the best track in the coutry, and also what they AND WE have done wrong thus far this season. I can tell you that they definitely do read here and it seemed as though some of the things that were said like they don;t care about the racers and such really hurt them...they admitted to growing pains and habing to learn an entire business and what they didn't expect was all of the rumours and gossip that comes along with this particulkar business venture

They do ask that if there are any problems that you phone them personally as they will answer everything truthfully...they even touched on the rumours that they only care about the bottomline and he truthfully did admit that they DO CARE ABOUT THE BOTTOMLINE because noone gets into it to lose money but they also care about the drivers and do see the work that we put into our hot rods...

My personal thoughts were that this was a monumental drivers meeting...it seems as though we were getting farther apart, and to me this will help get the driovers back together. Respect and having fun is what it should be about, but you have to make money to have a spot to race and we are damn lucky to have a spot as nice as Barrie Speedway and I think most would agree....

Last Saturday night we had the largest regular show saturday night crowd in the history of the speedway...I am not sure on the numbers but if I had to guesse i would say 2500 people fairly easily...prolly more....i think that in its own right shows that the drivers, the owners and the officials are doping something right...definitely not everything and it can definitely get better but what we are doing is working somewhat....

I think the early season and mid season and even the latest B.S. is basically stemming from a power struggle, when it was Brad's speedway, everyone knew it...and B.S. and ur gone...you knew he knew racing and because of where he had tkane the track to and from almost oblivion there was an instant respect there for him....and even with that i remember ppl crusifying him and Jo on here last year....I think with the owners not actually runing the show the drivers have no respect for them because they feel that the owners couldnt possibly understand what we go through to get here every weekend....but I raise this questioon, could u fathom the work that they have put in to get 24 nightly sponsors, all of the walls sponsored, division sponsors when some of us have trouble getting 2 or 3 sponsors....?

If we want to get better management as they did last night need to admit mistakes and learn, but so do the drivers...we need to appreciate what we have and just have fun racing there

just my $0.02

97 you hit the nail on the head, it all comes back to respect, as it was said last nite by a driver,  whom I now hold a lot of respect for, drivers need to stop, get out of thier cars and take a really good look around and at themselves before someone gets seriously hurt or killed. Respect for your fellow driver should be first or foremost on the track, having fun comes second and then points, maybe that will bring BSW up to where we all want to be.... my 2cents worth......

burger/hot dog/ egg salad sandwiches/ tuna sandwiches I dont care YORKIE, and I am not fussy the usual trimmings mustard, relish, and ketchup please!!! Nice to hear Dave S had this chat though!! Was wondering why the meetings took so long!!LOL Starting 10 mins later is well worth it, if thats what happened cause it was very much needed THANKS DAVE SIMPSON!!! Dont know about the largest reg Sat night crowd in the history of Barrie Speedway but I find it really hard to guesstimate now with the added seating!! TQ midgets carry their own following as well, but with all the racing we had on the docet last week didnt suprise me the crowd was good!!! What do you think it held before the added seating?? My guess would be 2500 then!! Some nights in 2005 and 2006 with the likes of Gaunt, Walters, Watson, Bourque, and others running there it was jam packed and 3 and 4 rows deep in lawn chair row!!! My best guess as to the current seating capacity of BSW now would be somewhere around 5000 so to think it was half full would match up to the numbers you stated Thayne!! What do you think ;;; How many does Barrie seat now without lawnchairs involved?? Another perspective would be appreciated on this as I really have no idea anymore!!
