Sorry folks due to working in half hour or so and with racing again tomorrow this is just gonna be a quick paragraph and results only.. Beautiful night for racing and some pretty good on track action most of the night but for the first 7-8 laps of the PS feature were a lil slow, until the race played itself out a bit and a couple cumbersome cars retired to the infield.. As the title suggests the winning streak of#10 Rick Walt came to an end in Thunders, as #00 Darryl St. Onge claimed his first feature win of the season, and first since his championship year of 2009, after serving on the officials side the past couple seasons.. π What a great race these two put on, with Walt all over the 00s bumper the last 15 laps but unable to get around on the top side, as Darryl also admittadely in victory lane essentially said " I was making it pretty wide at the end, and that one time I chppoed Rick off entering turn 1 it bordered on dirty" ha ha .. Thought that to be a pretty good quote myself.. While the Walt streak ended, another would continue as #48 LLM Dwayne Baker captured the 30 lap finale to the evening, to mark the 7th race night in a row hes claimed at one feature race checkered. I thought the first feature race was the better of the two personally, and it was won by #19 Keith McLeod .. Actually Baker and McLeod would record a 1st and 2nd place finish each, so heading into tomorrow afternoons racing its status quo as Baker still holds a slender 13 point lead on the 19..
LLM Feature 1 -- 1st Keith McLeod # 19, 2nd Dwayne Baker # 48, 3rd Al "Red Rocket" Inglis #69, 4th Ron "The Dominator" Quesnelle # 57, 5th Randy Bull #54
Feature 2 -- 1st Baker, 2nd McLeod, 3rd Quesnelle, 4th Gord Shepherd #10, 5th Inglis
Thunder Cars -- 1st Darryl St. Onge #00, 2nd Rick Walt #10, 3rd Dave "The Deuce" Doucette #44, 4th Leonard Johnston #24, 5th Jim "Polish Prince" Belesky #12.
Four different heat winners came in the form of Walt, Doucette, Johnston, and #39 Travis "The Enforcer" Hallyburton.
Pure Stocks -- 1st #9 Charlie Smith, 2nd #15 Will Davies, 3rd #11 Adam Misener, 4th #400 Justin Holmes, 5th #63 Jamie Cairns.. First ever top 5 for the 63 so congrats to him. He's always been a pretty solid and clean runner in my eyes. The kinda guy I can cheer for if you will!!! ::)
Heats went to Misener with a pair, #28 JP Rosevear, and #14 Billy Melenhorst.
Sorry folks thats all I got for now.. Duty calls.. But if you have nothing better to do I'd suggest you get up to Barrie tomorrow for a rare Sunday afternoon race event. If tonight's race action was any indication it could get really good!! π Pit gate opens at 11am with racing set to begin at 1pm... There you have it... FROM THE CHEAP SEATS!!
