Ok time for the 20 min rundown shortened to 17 1/2 due to time constraints..

The highlight of this night was the Thunder Car feature as CRO's own BARRIE NEXT GEN  #9 Chris Burrage would take his first ever Thunder Car feature, holding off a very racy 4 time track champ #49 Flyin Frank Davey at the finish..Davey actually looked to have a pretty good run to the inside of Burrage racing down the backstretch with about 5 laps remaining, but Burrage slammed the door entering 3 holding onto the victory, with Davey pinned to his bumper every step of the way..Nice to see a class act like Burrage finally get that elusive feature win after several podium finished in his 4 years driving a Thunder.. And class act by Davey driving Chris so very clean when it looked like he really coulda forced the issue entering 3 on lap 25..

Really good race all in all with #67 Jeff Smith taking the lead and holding it for the first 8-9 laps from the pole position. After an early caution, Smith found rookie #38 Steeve Melson at his side, with Smith able to gain a marginal advantage, as #24 Leonard Johnston also found himself at the front of the field.. Johnston, would eventually power to the front around lap 10, passing Smith to the outside in corner 3. This move allowed Burrage the room he needed to file into 2nd, and begin pursuit of Johnston who was holding a slim lead with laps in the 16.1 sec. range.

Burrage would make the winning move just past the midway point, passing Johnston to the inside between 1&2.. Just one lap later Davey would execute a pass in the same part of the racetrack to take 2nd from Johnston.. At the finish it was Burrage, Davey, #12 Jim Belesky, Johnston, and #3 Ken DenHollander the top 5.

Heats went to DenHollander with a pair, Burrage, and Johnston.. 15 cars showed with 3 visitors coming in the form of Davey, former Sauble champ #1x Dan Wright, and #6 Chris Cunnington making a return to the Speedway in one of the former school cars.

No real time to tell all the details of the twin LLM 30 lappers so I'll just run down the top 5 in each and expound a bit more tomorrow or later on in the week..

1st feature won by #10 Gord Shepherd, 2nd #69 Al Inglis, 3rd #22 Rob Inglis, 4th #8 Dave Lewis, and 5th to #57 Ron Quesnelle..

2nd feature won by Ron Quesnelle, 2nd Al Inglis, 3rd #6 Keith Maiato, 4th Lewis, and 5th Shepherd.. 10 cars in attendance..

In Pure Stocks a season high 17 cars showed with 5 or 6 visiting drivers.. Hat trick recorded by #13 Dave "Gipper" Glaze in a Mustang campaigned last season at Barrie by Crystal Doucette.. Nice to see Gipper back at Barrie even if only for a night, as he's a thrilling driver to watch and very hard charger.. 2nd went to #90 Jim MacDonald who gave up the lead with about 2 -3 laps remaining, when Glaze passed him on the outside while racing down the backstretch..Point leader #15 Will Davies finished 3rd, with #19 Tim Foster and the #40 of visiting driver Andrew Swindells rounding out the top 5 in his quick lil Honda CRX..

Heats went to Glaze with a pair, #55 Shawn Monette, and #23 Terry Tompkins.. First ever win of any kind for the #23, really nice to see a Barrie loyalist and class act like Terry pick up a win.. That car seems to be flying now after some really tough luck in the mechanical department for the first 2 or 3 weeks.. GOOD JOB TERRY!!!...... and there you have it..... FROM THE CHEAP SEATS..

Congratulations Chris on the win, you can take a huge breath of releaf now..........!  Why is it that Frank Davey has to be the one to be in the mirror of every first time winner attempt lol.
