Hello again folks!!! Sorry I'm a bit later with the results this week, just didnt have the time to do them after racing last night. As the title suggests the story of the night came from the Wahta Springs Late Model division where rookie #02 Shawn Murray of Alliston captured his first feature victory in a Late Model.. Murray, a two time Pure Stock track champ would take the lead just after a lap 20 restart, passing early race leader #33 Dave Lewis on the outside of turn two to inheirit the point. Lewis, would see a solid race go sour on lap 24, when the Ramara resident slowed on track with a flat right front tire. This brought #10 Gord Shepherd to Murray's outside for the 2nd and final restart of the race, with Murray getting a healthy jump as they came to green, as Shepherd would lose 2nd to current point leader #48 Dwayne Baker who executed a clean low pass of his fellow competitor just on the exit of turn 2 on lap 27. Baker caught up with Murray a lap or two later but couldn"t muster the "jam" to make it past before the checkered flew.. Give first to Murray, 2nd to Baker, 3rd to Shepherd, 4th to #19 Keith McLeod, and 5th to #69 Al "Red Rocket" Inglis..

LLM Feature 2 -- 1st Baker, 2nd Shepherd, 3rd McLeod, 4th #14"Hurricane" Thayne Hallyburton, 5th Inglis..

Once again CRO's own Hallyburton led for a good part of this race after passing Lewis to the low side on the exit of turn 4 just past the ten lap mark. The cautions would once again be Hallyburton's demise as a lap 24 caution for a nasty crash involving #2 Ron Lethbridge and #54 Randy Bull put Baker to the outside of Hallyburton, with Baker taking the lead, out powering Hallyburton coming out of turn 2 and completing the pass by the time the duo raced into turn three..

Gonna just stick to the results only for now for the remaining three classes on hand but I would be remiss if I didnt mention how good a show the Lucas Oil Can Am TQ Midgets put on.. Both 10 lap heat races and the 25 lap feature went caution free, and what a duel between #40 Mack Deman and #74 Rob Neely in the feature race, after both drivers found the front by around lap six or seven.. Deman and Neely exchanged the race lead amongst each other every lap it seemed, with each driver pulling off a successful cross over move of the other between turns 3&4 on sucessive laps at one point.. Such tight and close quarter racing in this class all night long.. I'm a huge fan of the TQ's fair enough, and admitadely the last race at Barrie 2 seasons ago was a bit of a stinker but this one made up for it in spades!!

TQ Feature -- 1st Mack Deman #40, 2nd Rob Neely #74, 3rd # Chris Holman #16, 4th James Gray #82, 5th Darren McLennan #48.

Heat wins went to Holman and McLennan.

For the 2nd time in three weeks the 30 lap Thunder main went caution free, with the feature win going to point leader #10 Rick Walt.. Walt, starting from 4th on the grid, powered out front on lap four, passing #5 Mike "The Hulkamaniac" Langley with a nice low move in turn 3. In winning his 6th feature of 2012, Walt extended his point lead from 29 heading into the evening, to now 37 over close rival #24 Leonard Johnston who could only manage a fifth place showing.. Give 1st to Walt, 2nd to #39 Travis "The Enforcer" Hallyburton, 3rd to #44 Dave "The Deuce" Doucette, 4th to #00 Darryl St. Onge, and 5th to Johnston. St. Onge was actually running 2nd late in the race, but slowed on track with meachanical issues with two laps remaining, eventually being able to ride it out for a fourth place result.

Four different heat winners came in the form of Doucette, St. Onge, Johnston, and #21 Desi Walt... Third week in a row with a heat win for the ever improving 21 car.. Not that anyone's counting or nothing!! ;).

The 20 lap Pure Stock feature went to 2010 track Champ #15 Will Davies, who captured his first feature win of the season. #9 Charlie Smith chased close friend Davies to the line, coming home in second just a single car length behind. #14 Billy Melenhorst would continue a string of impressive results in coming home 3rd, as point leader #11 Adam Misener, and #57 Ryan Toon rounded out the fast five. My quick and early math sees Misener and Smith now tied for the point lead once again heading into action next weekend, in a battle that appears to be shaping up for a last night showdown to crown the track champ.

As with the Thunders, there were four different heat race winners in the 4 bangers and they were Davies, Smith, Melenhorst, and #49 Larry "Doc" Woodward.

Thats all I got for now folks.. Suprised I was able to muster up the energy and brain power to even write that much after the night I had!! ;D Have a great remainder of the weekend race fans.. Till next time.. Signing out.. FROM THE CHEAP SEATS!! 😉
