no problem broheim
Steeve do the homework on it or you could ask me sometime LOL and as for the aformentioned Honda VS Ford Tell me what engine they run in the DASH cars?? the after market is just massive for the 2.3 and the FOX body or even Mustang II and I just may give honda the hp advantage but I still think the mustang out turns them, if a fella was to get smart and build a MUSTANG II he would turn that much better would he not?? and yes I agree on the 16v comment!! I say let us build what we can from stock parts and I know the ford will prevail due to the stronger bottom end in the 2.3 and the rear-wheel drive layout will take more stress VS fwd!
The DASH series hasn't run since 2004 (I attended the final race at Daytona) and is now the ISCARS series but I have followed the series since its inception in 1974 when it was the Baby Grand National Series . When the series started you could only run American made 4 cylinders and when they did let foreign makes in only Toyota and Datsun (thats a Nissan kids) had a motor that fit their specs. Sometime in the 80s they changed their rules to allow exotic built motors and from that time on the Pontiac (Iron Duke) has pretty much dominated the series . These engines cost around 25K each and are serious race pieces. The Ford 2.3 does run in this class with some success but again with billet after market heads and dry sumps you cant really compare it to the mini stock class or to a Honda in anyway.
Heres a pic of the Baby Grand / Dash series in the early days
Wade I am a die hard rear wheel race car guy but I have seen what you can do with a FWD and its impressive if its done right . As far as getting heavy duty drive line parts for a Honda you just switch most the stuff out with Acura parts like spindles, brakes half shafts, gear boxes etc
