Sometimes in order to take care of your drivers you need to lose some mvney, would you rather lose 5 thousand and no drivers or save the 5 thou and next year have a TC count in the 12 car range? I am not sure if losing that 500 + dollars a weekend for 18 weekends is worse than the one shot of 5 grand....

Either way, its a no win for the track but I think if they decide that on a Sunday in July they WILL race...start promoting it now...and if it does decently then schedule the next one...that TC invi wasn't on the radio....was barely advertised at all, save for on the website.

Sunday does seem to be a hard "sell" though for some reason,l....I can't understand why...but it seems to be the case.  Now in saying that with this many rainouts and if it is promoted properly I think it could work out ok.  Lets see how Sunset does this Sunday afternoon.....that should be a good test bed to see how a Sunday event will work.

I would think that at Barrie in particular if they scheduled two rain dates for the Sunday of each of the flea markets that it could be a win - win. Friday nights may even work. Lots of people there. Especially if they teamed with the flea market for a cross promotion.

Thanx Thayne. I had a booth at the fall flea market for about 6 years and that was the only time I ever got to Barrie Speedway. It was a natural fit and kept me out of the beer tent for a few hours anyways! LOL. My cousin used to work the ticket booth and her husband was the announcer at the Speedway for a while. That was in the early 90's though. I remember the year we were there and there was a provincial election and I didn't get around to voting. Bob Rae won >:( So now you now how it happened. LOL
