You Barrie guys make me laugh, If people don't race at Barrie they can't be quick???? Give me a break! Man I'm suprised that Nascar don't run all of the NCATS races at Barrie, after all, that is the only way to have a "true" champion right. LOL
Although I apreciate the compliment Hellothere, I feel your mistaken about Herbie "cheatin'" Walters, and before anyone gets upset about the nickname, I gave it to him back when he was the hired shoe in the 44 4cyl. at Barrie in '01 when I had the privalage of racing against him. 3 years ago when Herb raced at Barrie, he had alot of bad luck, driving a tank, with a 0 budget. In a good ride like the one he is in now, he has enough talent to succeed at any track. I still believe Barrie has some of the best talent and best cars anywhere in Canada, but, a lot of Sunset drivers, in similiar equiptment to ours could do very well at Barrie. I consider myself fortunate to have spent some weeks down their last season to watch them put on an excellent Thunder car show with the same amount of passion our drivers exsert on a weekly basis. The key word here is PASSION. Thats the same thing thought causes deals like Saturday night, but, it is also what drives the other great races we have all wittnessed over the years. As few as 5 years ago, Saturday would have been considered a regular show, paybacks on and off the track, one or more officials being screamed at, an owner or two being told how inadaquite their man hood is, we were just missing a couple of scraps in the pits, a few in the stands and one on the track for good messure. If everyone thinks that the dealings at the speedway are getting way to far out of hand, I'm kind of worried wear short track racing is going. A few months ago, on this very site, everyone was talking about a hall of fame. Well if it is only going to host people who never wrecked anyone, never yelled at an owner or promoter, never spead on pit road, never had a confrontation with anyone at the track, and for heavens never used fowl language in front of a minor, then in resent years I know of only a couple Guys, Dan Dixon, Dave Crumbie and Glenn Watson. Ohyeah, scratch Glenn off the list over that whole deal ith Paul and Trent a few years ago.
As far as Dave...from what I hear he is racing Friday nights at Kawartha and running the odd barrie show the rest of the year...but who knows....gl to him
As far as comparison between the two tracks...u will never know unless the shootout comes back! haha
dad appreaciates the comment there taj 2. he tries hard and hes there for fun 🙂 you know like racing atleast used to be....
Now we can play the game going back the other direction as well, do we all remember opening night at Barrie in 2006, when Poole dominated the field there by half a track. Was then not given the trophy.....just the payout. Now heres the funny fact, Poole wanted to register there and possibly compete for points but was declined in that option instead went on to win the title at Sunset that year.
nothing against poole great driver!he was on drifernt tires than everyone else,he would not buy track tires,as for the trophy i think he got it!davies came in second and was bitching for it!
