I dont think you will have to spend alot to be fast at Sunset in 2010. After everyone buys an intake, tires, and new gear set, 1000 bucks., who will be looking at a floater or a standard?
A floater is no advantage, other then disc brakes, and with the track being so banked, you arent gonna need those brakes. ( alot like peterborough ) Also, its 50 lbs extra unsprung weight. If I can get the gear I need in a metric, im staying with it.
So all thats left is the standard tranny. Well first you need to find one, or buy a new racing one, megga bucks. It comes with a 40lb penalty, so no weight advantage. Power gain, yes, maybe on restarts, but once your rollin' it dont make much difference i think. Also, powerglides are alot better then all the old fogies remember. Just ask anyone who supplies them for racing, in other words, they aint stock!
and this applies to barrie car counts how ? ??? 😮
What im saying is, I dont think anyone from the rear of the pack will be packing up and heading north to Barrie, in the hopes that it might me 'easier'. If you dont need to spend the money to be fast at Sunset, why head to Barrie.
Thayne thinks some Sunset cars will go to Barrie, but Im thinking otherwise. I dont think anything will change other then Dave, Darryl, Jason, and Jimmy heading to Sunset. Sunset hardcores wont leave, they never do. Even at specials, you dont get any Sunset regulars, they just wont do it.
I don't think half the people you mentioned will be going to Sunset, Charlie.
The other thing is if you're on the trailer for the main every week you will find someplace else to go. That's what I would do anyways...
Again that's my opinion. Take it for what it is.
Charlie I agree with what your saying. The car counts I do believe are going to increase slightly...probably for a few reasons...some for different scenery..some more competition and others pure curiosity Whatever the reason hopefully for racing in simcoe county that both tracks thrive in 2010. jmo

+1 Tex, this was my thinking...I havent heard anything about Quag? Whats he up to? Saw him at the sunset meeting...or maybe he was window shopping like me?
