I think the 4 cyl counts will be around the same....the 16 valve introduction will spell the end of the mustang soon though and theres a lot of mustangs at Barrie.

The thunders I see going up. To be competitive at Sunset it is going to take money....a good chunk of it too, I see the middle of the road cars from there coming to barrie...where they can run without changing their car very much or investing very much money, but thats just opinion, have not heard much either way because I don't know those guys.

The LLM count is not looking great, but as the off season progresses things start to pop up, but I think 12 LLM would be a good number on opening night.

People forget that Barrie is still one of the best facilities in the country and all of the bad press of late on here I think is directed at people and that drags the facility down...the reality is the track is smooth, fast and challenging...the pits are very well kept and look great...we have a tech shed that is second to none....and we always have a pretty good chunk of fans every night..more than any other place I have raced at for a weekly program.

We have not decided where our 2 cars will be running, but if I do go to Sunset it has nothing to do with Barrie, because after the half way point last year I had no issues with how anything there was ran and liked the effort Jim and the other guys were putting in. Our decision is going to be based on competition, money and what the crew wants to do.

I will say last year that the first night we were | | that close to leaving...literally an inch...at 4 o'clock and heading South for the season....but we had committed to Barrie and hung in there and I think the track and people running really came together after the half way point.

People who say all of the really negative things and still are saying Barrie will ahve no cars, etc...aren't true race fans, because a true race fan knows we need all of the tracks keeping strong to keep racing in the area healthy and it gives us as racers options...I love travelling..hell the last half of the season I think I traveled for as many races as I ran at Barrie and I loved it...

I think you are right Thayne, the minis will not change. I think Thunders will have a small count to start and increase in the first couple of weeks. With all the changes going on down the road, I can see a few teams packing up from Sunset and heading north. As for LM thats a coin toss your guess is as good as mine. I also think with the crate coming into play in Thunders will help keep the cost down for most teams who wanna make Sunset there home. The negative trash talk is not helping anyone! Hey if you dont like a track or the way it's run, dont run there.

I dont think you will have to spend alot to be fast at Sunset in 2010.  After everyone buys an intake, tires, and new gear set, 1000 bucks., who will be looking at a floater or a standard?

A floater is no advantage, other then disc brakes, and with the track being so banked, you arent gonna need those brakes.  ( alot like peterborough )  Also, its 50 lbs extra unsprung weight.  If I can get the gear I need in a metric, im staying with it.

So all thats left is the standard tranny.  Well first you need to find one, or buy a new racing one, megga bucks.  It comes with a 40lb penalty, so no weight advantage.  Power gain, yes, maybe on restarts, but once your rollin' it dont make much difference i think.  Also, powerglides are alot better then all the old fogies remember.  Just ask anyone who supplies them for racing, in other words, they aint stock!
