That's a weird reason to be upset :- I always figured if you're in tech, it better be legal bumper to bumper, any part is fair game whether they are looking for it or they stumble across it.

i too would have to agree with that assessment - if your in tech you better be legal, but i will say this - if you are deemed illegal then suck it up and not try and talk your way out of it or else the Tech Guys better grow a spine and say tough luck - better luck next week

Nothing to do with car counts, just going back to what Charlie said earlier about the standard tranny. If you think of an auto trans as being a hydraulic pump, it takes Horsepower to run that pump. On a dyno, a TH350 was shown to need 27 HP to turn. A Powerglide 13, A typical 4 speed manual 4. That is 23 horsepower to the rear wheels over a three speed auto!! In a class that guys are looking for 5-7 extra over the next guy, thats huge.....

It's a big deal for Barrie guys looking to go to Invitationals at Sunset, yes... But at Barrie the Powerglide is still the trans of choice as the sticks are still not permitted. I don't think anyone uses the 350 trans, IIRC.
