Well I'm sure Jimmy will take you for a spin as well if you indeed ask DAISY!!! And Thayner a little disappointed to hear you might not be there, as well as the family. I had fun hanging with you last year at the banquet, and the after party this year. Hope you change your mind and get up to the BMC this week and pick up a ticket. And dont like to hear there has been no phone calls made this year for drivers to vote on awards, that kinda confirms my suspision. Like are the owners picking the winners themselves?? Some of these guys barely know that racing is done on a day of the week ending in "Y" let alone anything to do with the races themselves!!!!!LOL

I guess one thing I did overlook in assessing this was, maybe all of the other drivers outside of the top 5 bananas in each division might be recognized differently than just being given a trophy. Maybe the new owners will give those guys a nice plaque or medallion or ribbon with BSW logos and there accomplishments and such.(Also might be more economically feasable yet still cool) A good friend pointed out to me that they might have something different planned this year and I got to thinking this could very well be possible. After all the new ownership group were the ones that instituted the nice rings the Champs got in 07, and that was a real nice touch of class so maybe I was being a tad harsh with them but I guess Sat night will tell the story for sure. I just think all the regular runners should be given something on behalf of the speedway, whether their in attendance at the banquet or not. Take the BEST MARKETED TEAM award for an example. Now to me this should be given to the driver/team that best represents the speedway by doing mall shows, and promotional appearances for their own sponsors and such. Now for doing the mall shows the drivers dont really get anything out of it other than a little exposure for there own sponsors but their mostly there to promote the track they race at. This is why I feel these things like should be recognized with particular awards like that and I think the owners should choose that award winner themselves. For Most Improved, in years past the drivers vote themselves for that, and I'm hearing that might of indeed happened on one of the last race weekends of the season(maybe Thayne was late that day lol) but point is it means a little more to be recognized by your peers like that as opposed to just a couple officials/owners picking someone at random.

What ever happened to the track getting us to sign a Hoosier race tire to be displayed at the Horsepower Grill? They talked about it one time in driver's meeting but I don't think that ever happened... I thought that was a cool idea.
