Hard Luck Award to Steeve Melson. Crashing your primary car, thrashfest to get your borrowed car ready. Win a feature and then have all sorts of mechanical issues, trannies, rear ends, electrical, you name it. And you still show up every week and are doing pretty awesome. I still think you would be doing much better if your primary car didn't get wrecked.

There is an award for that as well the PRESERVERENCE AWARD!!! And you have my vote Melson!!LOL You would fit for most improved as well, but I think that one should go to a first year driver in your division!!! And this year I'd like to see co award winners for that one Chrystal Doucette and Desiree Walt!! But I guess they could also be rookies so now I'm confused!!!!LOL Another award I'd like to see co winners of this year is Thunder Rookie of the Year. I say Troy Potts and Chris Burrage. Potts has probably had a bit better of a year and been a tad more consistant but Burrage has had some good finishes as well!! And they have been close in the points all season long as well!!!!! And TEX you got my vote for next season!!! But did you know if you run more than 5 races you lose your status for Rookie next year??? Thats what I was told by Chance Isherwood thats why hes in no hurry to get his Next Gen Thunder out!! So he will give you a run for your $$ once you get that Malibu dialed in!!! Who had the car before you Kev?? You said a former Rookie of the Year car at Sunset?? Brad Holden"s old car maybe??? And who ran it at Barrie before that???

Yes I agree with all of your picks, Dave. Steeve IMHO should get the perseverence award, he's being doing great even though having different problems all year long. And Crystal Doucette has really stepped up her program, doing awesome, Desiree as well. In the Thunders both Potts and Burrage have being doing very well for their first season, Potts got a heat win there last week, I don't think Burrage has one yet, but there is lots of racing left for him to get one. They are both very consistent. As for me I have been thinking about the rookie of the year award, there is what 7 nights left? I won't say for sure what my plans will be, but I believe Dave Melson may be taking my car out for a few nights (so we can get the car set up right and give Dave a chance to run in preparation for his return in '08), so I may be able to keep the opportunity to go for rookie of the year in '08. As for Chance Isherwood being my competition for rookie of the year, I love challenges, and it would be an honor to race Chance for that award. I would probably present the award to him myself if he won. Chance is an awesome racer and I have always enjoyed watching him run. I was told my car was Rookie of the Year car in '04 (I think) at Sunset. The car is the ex-Sunset #48 (Jeff Dorey). There is still pictures on Sunset's site of the car from '04 and '05. I know it was the #46 (not sure who ran it) at Barrie Speedway previous to that, and there is a plate covering the hole for the oil pressure light on the roof (if you remember those days) so I know the car ran at Barrie quite a while ago.
