I never had compression test done to my motor at Barrie, becouse they love ripping heads off to cc the combustion chamber!!  Just do a squeeze test like Sunset, and get a reading, who cares what the cc of the head is, it doesnt matter!!!

The only thing taking heads off does, is cost $$$ for gaskets, which I might add, NEVER GOT PAID FOR, and ive ALWAYS been legal and Barrie.    >:(  ???

racing comes with the knowledge that at any time the track can tear you down.....when it happens theres no point in being bitter...they shouldnt pay for gaskets....you signed up and agreed ot their terms...1 free teardown...

Ya i know Thayne, but when they tear you down just to cc a head, that sucks.  3rd place finnish was like 200 bucks, tear down and now gaskets at 100 bucks=  100 bucks for the night.  Id rather finnish last and make 90 bucks, which is ten less, and not need to do 4 hours work.

One compression test in 5 minutes will tell you everything you need to know inside that little cc space.  piston face, deck height, head gasket, and head chamber if its all with in 9.0-1, the only illegal thing you could have after that polished parts, which most guys dont have anyways.  ( yes some do have the polishing, im not dumb )

Other than light weight and polishing, there is ZERO reason to tear down a motor.  The cam and crank can even be checked without a teardown.
