Slammer he started last year at Barrie and his girl won't go there even, then he wondered down 2/3 thru the year check it out and cast I meant the drivers not the owners, I'm sure they are fine folks. When I went to the triple 50 thunder event I was impressed with what has been done there very clean , great bleachers nice facility NASCAR was an influence I'm sure even beer in the stands how revolutionary. As far as next year it's to far away to know for sure but I'm sure there a ton of people undecided where they will race or spectate in 2009.

Dusty and blkflag Jack Slaughter was the pit manager and was the best in the business even after chewing out a driver for speeding thru the pits they all still thought the world of him. He was fair, tough and consistant all great traits to run a busy pits. Steve Sr. was the director and promoter and was the best in the business thru the 90's as Sunset Speedway was the best track in Ontario. I was lucky enough to work for Steve and Carol and he treated me awesome and the stands were full, the pits were full and we had the cream of the crop of drivers. There were so many cars the middle had to be made into additional pit area and crowd was so big the south grandstand was build to accomodate more fans. There were nightly sponsor's every night even Sunday's of long week-ends and a generous point fund for each division and a season ending NASCAR style banquet so big it wa held in Toronto on the airport strip in access of 600 people and a trophy you had to see to believe. The points trophies were as tall as the drivers who won them and it an honour to win one of these beauties. So what I am trying to say Steve Sr. would be a great director but also a great track manager over seeing the whole operation.

Wattie, I couldn't agree more. I left Flamboro just as Steve took over Sunset. I wondered at that time what a track photographer could do as a promoter. He earned my respect quickly. And if Jack didn't yell at you for speeding in the pits, you never raced at Sunset  (quote; Lets keep it cleanout there so we can get outta here)
