Auto Clearing Motor Speedway

Street Stock Showcase

Wednesday night.  Beautiful weather.  Let’s go stock car racing!!

That’s right, stock cars took to the track Wednesday night at Auto
Clearing Motor Speedway and the fans responded by coming out to cheer on
their favorite drivers.  When the crowds are good the drivers seem to
respond with even better racing.  Wednesday was no different.

Whether it was a super late model heat race, a pro truck qualifier or
the street stock feature, the racing was tight and the winner was not
clear until the checkered flag flew.  Whether it was for first or sixth,
drivers battled for position all over the track all night.

Alex Leschenko started the night off with a win with the #01 Family
Pizza Ford F150 in the first heat of the Tiger Automotive Pro Trucks.
Andrew Hardy picked up the second heat win with his #15 D&S Developments
Dodge Ram.

In the first qualifier race of the Tiger Automotive Pro Trucks it was
Kevin Dyck and the #10 Wheaton GM Sierra picking up a win, with Brad
Wrennick getting his first win of the year in the second qualifier with
his #88 Access 2000 Elevator & Lift Chevy Silverado.

Alex Leschenko finished the night the way he started, taking home a
commemorative Auto Clearing Motor Speedway checkered flag in the Tiger
Automotive Pro Truck Feature in the #01 Family Pizza Ford F150 ahead of
Aaron Anderson’s #19 En’s Auto Group Toyota Tundra and Andrew Hardy’s
#15 D&S Developments Dodge Ram.

Jason Gervais picked up top points in the first WSSL Auto Parts Plus
Super Late Model heat race, getting the #88 Commercial Sandblasting Ford
Fusion to the line first.  Kenny Heintz did likewise in the second heat,
picking up his first win of the year in the #62 Stop and Go Impala SS.

Jim Gaunt and the #55 Sky Financial Impala SS was tops in the first WSSL
Auto Parts Plus Super Late Model Qualifier and Trevor Hannay took top
spot in the second qualifier after ripping apart the #44 Barga.ca Dodge
Charger on the front wall only four short weeks ago in the season opener.

There was a tight battle in the WSSL Auto Parts Plus Super Late Model
Feature Race between Gaunt, Heintz and Janzen, with several laps of side
by side racing.  Just when it looked like Kenny Heintz was going to hold
Gaunt off, a little slip gave Gaunt the advantage, allowing the #55 Sky
Financial Impala SS to claim the checkered flag just ahead of the #62
Stop and Go Impala.  Rob Janzen was third in his #17 J&A Heating and
Plumbing Toyota Camry.

The Golf’s Car Wash Street Stocks were unpredictable all evening with
any of four cars in a position to win each of the three races.  It was
not ‘who is the better driver’, but ‘who will make a mistake first’
allowing others to capitalize.

Kevin MacLaggan picked up the Golf’s Car Wash Street Stock heat race,
piloting Ron Eby’s #3 BDI-Canada Trans Am to the win, just ahead of
Brennan Forseille.  It was Brennan Forseille getting to the line ahead
of MacLaggan in the qualifier race though.

Brennan Forseille was the car to beat as well in the Golf’s Car Wash
Street Stock Feature, taking top spot with the #28 Ghost Transportation
Camaro, just ahead of Kevin MacLaggan and the #3 BDI-Canada Trans Am and
#22 Ryan Fredrickson’s Caterpillar Camaro.

We’re back at it on Saturday with a short turn-around for the Golf’s Car
Wash Street Stocks, joining the Shell V-Power Sportsman and the Golf’s
Car Wash Mini Stocks.  Front gates open at 5:00, with the first green
flag at 6:05pm.
