Auto Clearing Motor Speedway
Results for Friday, August 22, 2014

What a difference it makes not having a full moon shining above when it
comes to racing.  Friday night at the Auto Clearing Motor Speedway the
Brock Salvage Street Stocks, the FFUN Motor Group Pro Trucks and the
WSSL Auto Parts Super Late Models got in 280 laps of racing, with only
three cautions the entire night.  Two cautions were for single car spins
and the third was a jumped restart.

In the WSSL Auto Parts Super Late Model division, Jason Gervais and Dave
Bone have both shown they are hungry to be the late model champion.
Jason gained two points through the night and now sits only eight points
back of Dave.  Eight points is a lot to make up in the late models, but
with their two remaining races also being Dakota Dunes races, anything
is possible.

The Brock Salvage street stocks only have one more points meet left, so
while it is possible, things have to go terribly wrong for Craig
Katelnikoff to not win the Street Stock championship.  Katelnikoff has a
66 point lead on second place Nicole Sheetka.

The next street stock race is the Martensville A&W 100, which is for
show points, so as long as both cars start the 100 they will get the
same points.  That leaves just the points final on September 21, at
which as long as Craig starts two of the three races it would be
mathematically impossible to beat him for the championship trophy.

Things are much tighter in the FFUN Group Pro Truck Division where Kevin
Dyck has only a five point lead over Aaron Deagnon, and Ken Ross is only
another five points back.  The Pro Trucks still have two race meets
left, so any of those three could become champion.

On the track Friday night, the Saskatchewan Antique Car Club put on a
fantastic display before the races started with 45 cars gracing the
front straight.  There was everything from Models T’s to a Corvette, to
Mustangs and TBirds to a Studebaker Champion bullet-nose.

It didn’t take the street stocks long to get the track warmed up though
as Craig Katelnikoff cruised to a win in the first heat race in the #44
Elite Roofing Monte Carlo, followed by rookie Curtis Houben in the #81
Culligan Water Impala and Darryl Potts in the Sask Judo #36 Torino.

Harold Edwards in the #93 Camaro easily took the win in the qualifier,
ahead of Craig Katelnikoff and Darryl Potts.

It was double feature night for the Brock Salvage Street Stocks and
Craig Katelnikoff picked up one, then the second feature checkered flag
in the #44 Elite Roofing Impala.  Darryl Potts was second in both
features in the #36 Sask Judo Torino.  Nicole Sheetka was third in the
first feature, while #81 Curtis Houben was third in the second feature.

In the WSSL Super Late Model Division, Dave Bone picked up the first win
in the #38 Proline Motorsports Ford Fusion, with #88 Jason Gervais
running second and #55 Jim Gaunt third.

Jason and Dave traded places as Jason Gervais took the win in the
qualifier race in the #88 Commercial Sand Blasting Ford Fusion, while
Dave Bone was second and Jim Gaunt third.  In the WSSL Auto Parts
feature race, it was the same three, different order.  This time Jim
Gaunt took home the checkered flag in the #55 Sky Financial Impala SS,
while Jason was second and Dave Bone was third.

On to the FFUN Motor Group Pro Truck Division, where Ken Ross picked up
the win in Heat A, with the #67 Grace Byer ReMax Silverado, ahead of the
#10 of Kevin Dyck and #15 Andrew Hardy.  In Heat B, Ben Pogoda, driving
the #94 Speedtech Racing Development Toyota Tundra was first to the
line, ahead of the #19 of Aaron Anderson and #55 Ian McLean.

In the qualifiers, the #7 NexGen Mechanical Toyota of Darnell Schick
picked up Qualifier A, leading #49 Shantel Firth and #67 Ken Ross to the
line, while Aaron Deagnon took Qualifier B in the #12 Great Canadian Oil
Change Dodge Ram, ahead of #10 Kevin Dyck and #01 Alex Leschenko.

Finally in the FFUN Motor Group Pro Truck Feature race, Aaron Anderson
finally took home a checkered flag in the #19 Ens Auto Group Toyota,
ahead of #67 Ken Ross and #10, Kevin Dyck.

Next weekend it’s Mardi Gras time at Auto Clearing Motor Speedway.  The
Rusty Wallace Racing Experience is on the track Friday and Saturday,
there is super late model practice Friday night, and then Saturday night
it’s the Dakota Dunes Casino Western Canada Super Late Model
Championship series and the Budweiser 150, along with the FFUN Motor
Group Pro Truck Division and the Kreepy Kritterz Mini Stock Division.

Late model practice goes from 7:00pm to 10:00pm Friday August 29, and
the racing Saturday gets underway at 6:00pm.  Front gates open Saturday
at 4:30pm.
