Urlin dominated that race. He drove the smartest, cleanest and hardest race I’ve seen him run!
Would you care to explain that? Maybe the word dominated means something else to you than it does to me.
According to http://www.acttour.com/reports/C092610.pdf there were 7 lead changes in the 300 lap race among 5 drivers.
Déry : 1 - 46
Laperle: 47 - 161, 183 - 298
Decoste : 162 - 166
Urlin : 167 - 168
Allard : 169 - 182, 299 - 300
I'd really like to understand that statement.

I did not mean who actually lead the race and maybe I should have used different terminology but what I meant was Urlin drove a clean hard race and his car was one of the few that was working perfect. His car worked well and he had obvious horse power. He was ideal in the corners. It looked to me that he had one of the best cars on the track!
Jonathan is a great guy. A great competitor. Had - like he has had for the last two seasons - a very competitive car on the ACT Castrol Series, when he shows up. Which is too far and few.
But by no means was he dominant. The dominant car that day - since you were there - you will admit to it was the 91 of Laperle who was stretching half a track within just a lap or so on the competition.
Urlin's multiple pit stops for adjustments were what the "doctor" ordered to get the car ready for the last 20 lap or so. He pit what 4 times?
I have spoken to both Laperle and Urlin about the incident.
Had ACT Officials not removed all laps cars - which was not the announced game plan at the pit meeting - Jonathan would not have restarted were he did and this topic would be a moot point.
I gave Jonathan credit for the move in 1-2 as he grew a big set of cahoones to try that, the way he did. While I still think it should have been condone by officials, the fact that it was okayed all day excuses it. On the other hand, Urlin could have been cleaner exiting 2 and down the back stretch as he drove Laperle into the wall.
Turns 3 and 4 were great short track racing by both Urlin and Laperle and the kind of action people pay to see.
Exiting 4, Laperle got "greedy" and jumped on the gaz, lost the rear end which Urlin made contact with Laperle in the right rear (see http://picasaweb.google.com/stephanelaz/300STEustache?feat=directlink ). The contact sent both cars towards the wall. There was no intentions there of any sort... just a racing deal.
What happened in the pits... should never occur. Heck Arnie Malcom - former CCS Track Manager and Promoter - said it best: "if your going to fight, you better do it in front of the main grand stand so I can sell tickets or else do it off my property".

Urlin never touched laperle. Laperle was PO that Urlin passed him and lost his cool. Anyone that was there knows Urlin ran a very clean hard race and was Laperles only competition. Shadowracer it is NOT illegal to run on that inside lane, (most can't run there because of the soft bumpy track, you enter at your own risk) man some people just don't want to accept the facts!!!
No one runs there because Autodrome St-Eustache outlaws it and its pit exit. Just for comparason (spelling?) why aren't any of the NCTS drivers going there? becuase they know its out of bound. Like I said in my other post, give credit to Urlin for trying a banzai move... but anyother day he would have been given the b/f for it.
How was Urlin Laperle's only competition? Car to explain?
Any other day "he would have been black flagged" Ya, ok, well it wasn't any other day, it was that race and it was NOT illegal to run where he did plain and simple! As I said before, you enter at your own risk IF your car can even run in that low part, most can't. Bottom line is Urlin surprised Laperle and Laperle lost it in more ways than one. It was very evident when you see them come out of 4 that Laperle was out of control and definitely put Urlin in the wall. We can argue this till the cows come home, you won't change my mind.
As for the pits stops Urlin had that totally under control and was exactly where he wanted to be in the last 20 laps. Remember he had fresh tires at the end, Laperle did not!
All I'm saying is....Its nice to see someone else beat Laperle, who usually dominates, if anyone is going to give Laperle some competition, I'm glad its Urlin. Laperle is a good runner but I just think Laperle, who is the home town boy, track favourite, his actions that day showed he was a spoiled, crazy, poor loser!!
