There is a little bit of drizzle up here right now. The plan is to run the event today. There is plenty of time to wait out any rain hazzards.
The pits are full of Varney regulars as well as lots of visiting drivers.
Late Model race should be a good one today as well as the Modifieds.
Keep your eyes on CRO as i will update throughout the afternoon.
No green flag yet but, track officials have stated "we have all day and all night".
There are a lot of cars from other tracks with the intent of running Sunset tomorrow. An official poll it the pits has the drivers saying..."let's wait".
If you're planning on coming out to the Fall Classic here at Varney Motor Speedway, we are still at least an hour away from green flag.
+1 - wish I could be there!
Skies are clearing. If I was a betting man, I'd say we will go green before 5:00.
Still time to get here. It's 3:20 now, and we are still at least 30 minutes away from a safe track.
Not a lot of fans in the stands but, the covered grandstand is full and no one has left. Lots of folks in the parking lot waiting in their cars. I guess they don't want to pay unless they know they're gonna get a show.
In addition to Varney Regulars, there are lots of visiting drivers mostly from Sunset and Barrie and Sauble.
Off the top of my head:
Late Model
Parker, Williams, Stade from sauble
Koevoet, Crumbie from Barrie/Sunset
Lots of 4 cyl.
Devries from Sauble
Murray, Edwards-Kiss, Robinson Jr., Horn, Burney, Crumbie, Butler, Hallyburton, Burleigh fromSunset/Barrie/Elsewhere
Last blast of rain moving through now. Horizon looks blue.
Yuck!
More rain.
Unfortunately, the 2010 Fall Classic at Varney Motor Speedway has been cancelled due to rain.
At this point in time, there is no plan to run a rain date.
See you in 2011.
