No Deb I was not talking about the points at all, just responding to Doherty. I am not blaming Al, he has done a great job with the site. So please do not take offence nothing was directed at you.
Total number of injuries sustained in the 4 Fun class in 3 years , Zero
Er, must I remind you that I was injured in my HEAD-ON collision in the last race of '06?
Not that I needed to go to the hospital or anything, but even the week after I could barely move or turn my head without experiencing some pain.
Being a little sore the following week is not an injury
Being a little sore the following week is not an injury
Sure it does, when it compromises my ability to sit at my desk at the job without pain for a half hour (which it did) It's just like getting a sports injury from playing hockey (which I've also had.). You can continue to function, but only so much like normal. You can still move and go about your day, but those days hurt, regardless. It's still an injury, you're still in a pain and you still go to see a doctor. You may not think it's an injury because I wasn't wounded and bleeding and I wasn't sent to the hospital. But it's still an injury to me, and probably others would think it's an injury too. There are a few accidents that I can think of in Fourfun that people probably were injured in but they got up and walked away, and still had pain.
But hey, to each their own.
HI guys.. Regarding the 4- FUNS, I have raced in this division for 5 yrs , the fun began to go out of it about mid season last yr. But I still carried on thinking things would return to FUN TIMES on Sat. nights.
It is human nature to be competitive , the drivers and crews devise ways to boost their advantage (me included ), I'm all for competition ,BUT, we must ALL have respect for our fellow drivers out their. I don't profess to have the solution to our problems .
As of last Sat night I have decided to officially retire from racing I have acomplished what I set out to do I suppose, having said that I'm very willing to help ANY driver or crew if at all possible. I'll go so far to help create NEW rules for this division with all emphsis being FUN and SAFETY , If you guys (and gals) would like , I'll help you discuss with management to resolve or compromise any problems.
I'd like to thank all of the Sunset drivers that I have met in all divisions for their friendship and help over the past 5 yrs , it has ment at lot to me . It has been a BLAST !!!!!
Good luck to all , # 55 WILD BILL
How often have you been to Sunset this year Mark. I have personally seen black flags and could go to my score sheets and rhyme them off to you. They are out there.
Don't throw the blame on the starter here. Drivers have a responsibility to the safety of their well being on the track as well as their competitors. How can you begin to blame track officials for guys/gals driving skills or lack there of...........Of course the officials are there for a reason. But Rob has been guiding the new starter and I know first hand that they are not letting things go.....
One thing you people don't realize is the cost of insurance and how hard it is to obtain. Each and every one of these incidents have to be reported when they happen. How do you not know that maybe there isn't a pressure on Wes to deal with this or else.
I haven't been there this year and won't as long as this crap is thrown at the drivers. And if you read my post again you'll see I wrote "lack of driver respect and subsequent lack of black flags" - that points the blame at the drivers FIRST then at the lack of black flags. I never blamed the starter or officials directly since it is obvious that a new "directive" is in place to "keep the show rolling". This is proven with the lack of yellows when a car is stalled on the track surface.
And what does the cost of insurance have to do with this post? I am well aware of the cost of insurance!
You should read my posts more carefully before replying in the future Deb.
