Walters will leave when he gets mad and come back to barrie, then leave barrie when he gets mad and go back to sunset...lol...and i meant running at the front, not just running...Podweils might be an exception, maybe barrie is different, but i know two years ago at the northern 500 what went on to carcone and others and i assumed it happened evrywhere (when carcone came on our final points night, etc...u all know the story)
AND i think its far from rediculous to say...
ive been to invitationals at almost every track in ontario and have only seen that happen at barrie
im pretty sure brandon crumbie went home with his car exactly the same as it was when he came through the gates when he visited sunset on our second last points night
I doubt very much that anyone would be run out of Sunset if they came there to run. Mike and I came and ran there last year and the drivers and staff were extremely accommodating and helpful. The drivers raced us hard and clean, it was some of the best runs I ever had in that mini stock..... may it rest in pieces lol.
Q: you know what this looks like to me??????? A: A damn good topic to steer clear of!!!!!!LOL
ya that type of crap that we went through with colt is part of the reason that there are lower car counts at barrie imo. we were told before we went that the car wasn't liked but never imagined how brutal it was gonna be.
from right after the first heat i was being yelled when i was walking back to the pits by people i hadn't even met (guess they didn't like how i was watching the race), people who spun out on their own with colt not near them or people who were just passed were yelling "a**holes". I talked to the pit manager about what was happening but he was as useless as t*ts on a bull and was to blame imo for letting everything go on. Colt won both his heats that night and everyone kept warning us we would be wrecked if we came back. Saying the track owner told the home track guys to "do what you have to do" and stuff like that...
the guy who drove the 22 car and the guy who drove the 3 car were the worst of the lot threatening that they (everyone pitted in their row) would all beat us up together cause there were alot more of them than us (we had 2 guys and a girl)...it was a classic attempt at grade school bullying but the funny thing was all the dudes that were doing the most lipping didn't actually have the guts to do anything themselves on the track or in the pits when we stayed and were non factors in the race...it was some old dude in a sh*tbox getting lapped that did it. He was too old to beat up lol. We waited out hours of rain delay to race that feature knowing we would probably not drive the car back on the trailer. Everyone on pit road cheered with arms in the air when he was wrecked and it was a HARD hit!!! Showed real class on everyones part i thought. Some "lady" came up to the fence by the wall where colt hit and yelled at colt that he deserved it while he was catching his breath from the impact not caring if he was ok or not.
I will say that there was one guy who pitted beside us in a mustang who was nice and he came and raced at sunset once this year i think i wish i remembered their name. and the slaughters were good to us too and a couple others...
the guys who did the worst stuff were paying so much attention to colt that they were never factors in the race...their whole weekend was about colt and they weren't taking care of their own business.
anyways...i like the track and would like to race my own car there if they ever allow 16v......
This thread has drifted a long way from where Walters will race next year but as in most racing conversations that is not unusual . I will say what username said happened that day is pretty much what i saw .
Now before the COC and i saw the error of my ways i would have said that the only mistake Colt made was not to knock the teeth out of the first person who threatened him but as we all know that would be wrong in todays politically correct racing and it would be wrong to say on todays politically correct message boards . You see back in the old days before we knew better , guys would just wail the crap out of a guy if they did something like that and the officials did nothing about it , but as i said that was before we knew that doing that was wrong . Back in the day (Wasaga Beach Speedway) when someone wrecked you just because he could not beat you he might get a ball peen hammer to the shoulder breaking his collar bone ending his driving for the rest of the season . But as we all know that would be wrong to do in todays racing .
Before we knew better some snot nose rookie kid that interjected himself into the points battle between the points leaders would get his butt whipped when he threw the finger to a guy after he spun out changing the outcome of the points but now we know this is inappropriate behavior .
You see we did not know any better back in the day and we thought if you strapped on a helmet or were part of a crew you were responsible for what you did on the race track and what you said in the pits .
Short track racing certainly has come a long way in the past decade .
Just Saying
