They should have rain dates for Sundays!! Fans and Drivers have been asking for them because of all the Rain, but still no luck with Wes. I'm sure people would show up for a Sunday event!!
Couldn't they do it in the Sunday or a weekday evening race?
Sunday racing would be cool, but there are some people who can't save a whole weekend just for racing... (I think I responded to somebody else about Sunday racing in another topic. 😛 I don't want to get all into it again haha)
Weekdays would suck. Because as for me, I work full time afternoons/nights, and to have a weekday evening race, that I might have to take off work to run would suck. That's a loss of hours for me, and then to take the weekends then I'm not making much money for myself. If we just ran week nights I would have to quit racing, and that isn't something I want to do. Plus, normal people with normal jobs have to get up early, how late will racing run until? People will only get so much time to wind down and sleep before preparing for the next day. I know there was a rumour going around about 4funs and 4cyls at Sunset running a Wednesday or something, I wasn't prepared to take time off work for that, it would've sucked and I would've had to quit. But that's my own opinion, and my thoughts. I'm not sure how many other people would enjoy the weekday thing.
Weekday racing would honestly suck if it was a regular thing. We have the odd Thursday Night Invitational is fine!
I think Sunday racing is good when used for a rain date! That way you do get the chance to watch and fans will understand least your trying to give them what they want.
Years ago Sunset was a Wednesday night show and people came out. That was in the hay days of short track racing though. Innisfil may have bylaws preventing racing on other than designated days / nights. Most municipalities ,I think you will find, have bylaws allowing the operation of tracks but within certain parameters. Bylaws are usually restrictive rather than permissive.
Let get the drivers perspective on this would you come back on Sunday? There would be more expenses?
