I know i'm a Walters and everyone thinks were idiots! But i count 6 marks.
hey sorry if i offended anyone but shit happens walters is known to drive how he does as does MANY other drivers ,i tell my crew its between me and that driver.Baker meant to take him out yes but not to hurt him, EVERY driver gets pissed off so let them deal with it no one knows the whole story but Baker and Walters but all the name calling my 3 year old get in trouble for that lmao
All this bs about it is ok to fight it out in the pits ya right. Isnt this where innocent people get hurt as i beleive happened to a lady trying to break up one this year or last and she lost some teeth. Is this what you would allow to have your son or daughter standing by weighing maybe 40-50 lbs and have two men over 200 each to fall on them trying to knock each others teeth out. Would you put your 8 or 10 year old in an octagon and tell them to stay out of the way not to get hurt. Isnt going to happen. In minor hockey there is the 24 hr rule where if you have an issue with a coach u must wait 24 hrs before approaching him with your issue. There is no reason you cant bite your tonge for 7 days and approach the driver the following week. I myself have been biting my tongue for almost 360 days till autumn colors to approach a driver from last year. Gotta think this out folks. You rent the parking spot you are in and no reason for someone from another crew to be there. My opinion on all of this but you cant allow fighting in the pits period.
Something a little different........I've been racing a long time and have been hurt but not bad enough that I had to miss any racing. I was sore, stiff and limping but felt okay by race day, at least good enough to drive my car. I didn't go to the hospital and probably should have from some of those injuries. The reason I didn't go is because I was afraid the Doctor or worse my wife would say I couldn’t race. I had to be the judge of whether or not I could drive. Men always know when their hurt, and know when they need to heal. I'm sure in my CVM days and perhaps once in the Late Model I have seen a flash when I either hit the wall or slammed it hard sideways. I think those flashes could have been concussions, minor or more serious. I recovered, maybe I should not have raced but I could not be out of my car.
The reason I’m talking about this is because some drivers will heal and recover very quick, that’s one reason I've lasted or been lucky enough to compete in this sport for 43 seasons. I think stock car drivers do compare to some of the toughest athletes when it comes to bouncing back and being rugged and durable.
This weekend I'm hoping to run against another warrior, a tough racer Tom Walters. I've never had a broken neck bone, and maybe Tom doesn't either, and if his neck isn't injured badly I expect to race against him Saturday as long as it doesn’t rain.
I also wished I could have raced against Dwayne Baker tomorrow, but I understand why that won't happen this weekend and will have to wait until next year.
Racing is a very tough but awesome sport. If every racer contributed more than he got back we’d be racing for huge purses because of packed grand stands. I believe our sport will continue to survive the test of time when all of us realize we need each other. We all can't win, or set fast time, but we all can respect each other from the slowest to the fastest.
