kinda shitty, no payouts ready after our features. i wasn't staying to wait for the cash. weird!! it seems the respect thing is gone in the thunder division. a couple years ago guys raced clean and fun, now its checkers or wreckers. i just don't understand running your line and not blocking and some meathead pile drives you driving way over his head?? we definately got caught with our pants down on the final gear, believe me 6.40's don't cut it at all. congrats to marty on the win in ss, good clean driver and he deserved it. really hard fought up front. one final thing, when the race is over and you take the checkers, DON'T stop your fucking car at the line people are still going full tilt behind you! jesus christ man!!!!
Great show. From what i understand it was supposed to be a two day show but sunset worked with varney as they also had a show planned for this weekend and sunset made it a one day show.I dont know what any true race fan could of exspected. There was just so many cars for a one day show, mark dilley did say it suprised them at the huge turnout of cars. As a race fan i found it convenient that they managed to get it all in on one day and not have to worry about getting accomadations for the night.I think what some people are assuming is this was just a regular night of racing when in fact it was a special meant to be similar to the octoberfest and autamn colors but on a smaller scale. Very good racing in all classes. Great job mark, linda, steve and all the rest of the sunset staff.
I agree the night ran on a little to long, but I'm still not going to complain. It was obvious the track was caught with their pants down a bit but I don't think by any means it was that bad. If they had switched it to single heats people would have bitched about that too. Clearly they did not expect the turnout they had, but none the less, cold feet and all it was a great day/night.
Thanks Sunset for giving us one last local day of racing! Great job all around and I'm sure you'll have the kinks out for next year!
If they elimated 1 set of heats....and started at 1. it would have been about 2 hours shorter, and much more reasonable time.
None the less, it was great racing...and a lot of cars, to do all they did in 1 day is impressive...I think all things considered they moved the show along very well.
Thought Glen Watson should have kept his mouth shut at the end came off looking like a sore loser and not very classy, calling another driver basically a cheater!
Class act/hard luck award goes to Butler#10 mini the kid had his feature won by a mile and gets wrecked by two laps cars having a hissy fir and just packs up. Well down kid i know the fans appreciated your efforts.
