From what i have heard ,the injuries are so sever that he can no longer race at all this year, who knows about next year, and that he will be out of commission at least 1-2 months. I understand that he was actually unconscious for at least 3-5 minutes.I sure hope that someone from his race family posts about his condition.Best wishes go out to Tom.

With the way Walters has run in the past as aggressive as he is he's taken out plenty of cars in his day. But that doesn't mean this is ok by any means. I agree with Evan, pay backs would be like spinning a guy out, not this. It's unfortunate that Walters was hurt in this incident. I wasn't there and didn't see it, but it seems like somebody has crossed the line here. Look forward to seeing a video of it. Hopefully Walters will recover quickly and maybe this incident will make him a much less aggressive driver in the future. It's hard to have an opinion on the matter without pissing anybody off but Walters has been aggressive for so many years and you just wait and want to see somebody pay him back for it. But you never want to see somebody injured. I hope the Speedway does the right thing with this matter and penalizes whomever need to be penalized for this and hopefully prevent anything like this from happening again. This sort of stuff brings a bad reputation to short track racing in the area. just my 2 cents

I really didn't want to comment on this but...

Strong actions are usually the only ones that yield results. I used the example earlier of a dog pissing on your floor. Tell him he's bad and he will most likely do it again. Smack it up the side of the head, and it will most likely think twice about doing it next time. It's about time Tom got a good "smack up the side of the head". This doesn't mean I like the idea of him getting hurt, but I'm glad someone finally took a stand. This is partially the tracks fault for letting it go this far to begin with. The lack of black flag usage, and officials being buddy buddy with certain teams, usually leads drivers to take things into their own hands. The track knew this was coming, and did nothing.

Maybe next time Walters sits in a race car he will think "Maybe I shouldn't but a bumper to half of the cars I pass, one of these guys may have some balls and retaliate, and since I'm in a car with 300+hp traveling at high speeds, inches from a concrete wall it could cause serious injury, just like it says on the waiver I sign every weekend"

From what I hear Tommy has sent people to the hospital before. I bet all of you people shunning the 48 right now, weren't shunning Tommy when he did it.

Lastly I find it entertaining to hear that he was sure quick to get out of the car after they told him they were going to cut it up to get him out. I do hope he's ok, and I do hope he's learned his lesson, but... probably not.
