Wade i think the Falken tire will be legal  at Sunset for 08 from what i have heard . IMO Paul is a good driver and has won late model features at Sunset in the past . I think one of the main things that has limited his success is he is a tad frugal .  I do give him credit for being one of the few guys with only some help from his dad that builds his own chassis and engines except when he runs a crate , there is not that many guys that do it all themselves anymore. The no next gen thing was precipitated by the Sunset thunder car drivers not Glen . I do think not having to run a stock firewall and having a glass body is a pretty good edge . With only 2 next gen cars out of the 7 who ran all 19 nights the odds were in favor of an old style car winning the points , add to that if St Onge had not followed Beleski into the wall when he blew there may have been a very different result in the final points tally .

hey joe, new gens don't run a glass body. The only 3 differences between the two types of thunders at Barrie are newer style steel body, full tin kit and you can run the early 60's motor mounts to drop the motor down 1 inch but it cannot be moved back at all. The only reason to drop the motor is so you can fit the factory steel hood.

dont forget if new gens run a race motor they have to carry a 150 lb penalty!!!

Your right they are only about half glass . but the Barrie cars old and new do have a few other advantages . tires rear control arms etc . It really doesn't matter because they held a meeting of the thunder car guys at Sunset and the drivers decided they didn't want the Barrie next gens . So Glen had to chose to piss of the Barrie next gen guys or his own thunder car guys , pretty easy choice don't you think ?
