I got into a lineup of like 15 people for food and thought, oh god.......this will take forever. But, I was amazed how fast the lineups went! I noticed there was a few adults in the food tents making sure the kiddies werent slacking off as usuall, good job!!
Was that not one of the biggest turnouts of fans for a racing event at sunset in recent memory or what. Went to get something to eat near the end of the night and there was still a crowd buying food etc. Man oh man is this bringing back memories of the good ol days of racing. Fabulous effort by all the staff and management. Couldn't beleive it when someone said that Mark,Linda and Steve were at the gates thanking not only the fans for coming out to Sunset but thanking the drivers too. Very , very class act on their part. Just wanted to say thanks for putting the fun back into racing.
Yes I have to agree with all the above comments about the way everyone is treated, from staff to fans. Thank you for all your hard work, your rewards are coming soon. for a great job. Yes I have been around Sunset since 1970 when Shakell's started the track, a lot of good memories, met a lot of nice people drivers , crews and fans. Even still see s few that were there back in the 70's. They are amazed at how well everything has improved over the years.
Great job to the designer and layout of the track and all the hard work and long hours that was put in trying to get everything ready for the Grand Opening. It dose not come together over night. WELL DONE MARK, STEVE LINDA and "ALL " To the owners THANK YOU for your building such a race track and hopefully make it bigger down the road. Thank You to Everyone for a GREAT JOB.
I hope this will continue when Mr.Dilley starts racing himself,,fingers crossed :- :- :-
