Guess that applies to all engines, built or crate...
It applies to whatever the track feels like applying it to depending on who car it's in.
thought Sunset rules were LOCKED IN ?......seems I was missinformed

Come on guys - you all know better. Rules are the basis for competition. The goal is to always lock in rules thus giving competitors good life out of parts acquired and used. But that's doesn't (and never has) mean that Promoters can't make changes (including drastic ones' if required, let alone minor ones) to ensure fairness or equalization of performance. It's always been that way and is stated in every x, y and z rule book "management reserves the right, etc, etc, etc" / fill in the blank.
What I was looking for was the clarification of the rule to apply to one version of engines (602 crate or built). The crate already has beautiful mid-rise intake manifold, whereas the built motor is stuck with a 20+ year old dual plane design. There's no question that the crate benefits from aluminum custom spacers more so than built motors do...
For now, it would appear that this rule "clarification / amendment" will apply to all engine types and makes.
