Awesome night of racing  very few cautions in all divisions in front of a huge crowd,I have to give credit to management and staff the place looks incredible .What else is new the real Mr Excitement Tommy Walters won the llm 75 lapper after taking the lead from Al Ingles who ran hard and clean and lead a great deal of the race, fin order was Walters, Ingles, Baker, Morrow, Shepherd. The thundercars pick # 1 Doucette got taken out in the first heat lap gone for the night.Pick #2 St Onge had the feature race in the bag but some idiot lapped car got into him and cut his tire so Monette who was probably the best car on the night took the lead only to have his rear end grenade under caution giving the lead to Jason Elliot who drove a hard race to bring it home with Belesky in 2nd. Good night for Melson who won a heat and then laid more rubber than Kyle Bush after the race.4cyl I think it was Rob Krystal #99 who open up a well deserved can of woop ass on Doug Butler to take the win
No cut tire for Darryl St Onge it was the stupid "involved car" rule that got him sent back to 12th for getting turned by a lapped car...
Only place in the province where the leader gets sent to the back through no fault of his own, but whatever... Nice to see Jason Elliott get his first feature win, great job guys!
It's been a rather disappointing weekend for Mace-Denhollander Racing. It is what it is I guess...
A rule is a rule - all involved cars to the back and sadly, that was the case there. I mean, it doesn't seem fair but if you bend the rule for one, then everybody will expect the rules to be bent for them.
As far as all the features tonight, they were all exciting and fun to watch as they all had action - even the heats. The race between Harold Noseworthy & Bill Campball was awesome in Mini Stocks and then the battle between Jim Belesky & Jay Cutting in Thunders was definately good.
I have to say that I am pleased overall and congratulations to all the drivers who won - they each ran good races in their own divisions to come out with the win, even if some got more lucky then others. I guess that's why they always say luck is part of racing.
another great night at sunset, but i'm getting sick of seconds :(. first off i want to apologize to herb for getting into him in the heat, i locked the fronts going in and tagged him. sorry herb! i'm glad you missed on the next lap(you know what i mean). jay cutting is a class act as is the whole 25 gang. what a blast racing him door handle to door handle, watch out for this kid he has a ton of talent and will be very successful in the years to come! congrats to quaig for his first feature win it was well deserved, and lastly thanks to brad holden for being patient with me in the final laps . my tires were toast and i was more sideways than straight, as always a great guy to race. awesome job sunset speedway!!!!

WOW Was that not a vantastic night of racing. All divisions had major action going on throughout the field, pretty weird how whoever took the lead in the thunder car feature faced some sort of unexspected ending of the night. Great to see Jason Elliot win one,but i bet if it would have gone another 5 laps, the way the race was going, somethig weird was bound to happen to him too.Great 4 cyl race also, thought the number 10 was going to easily win the way he dominated his heats.Late model feature was the best ive seen in a long time. With Al Inglis holding off Stompin Tom,Dwayne Baker,Chris Morrow,Gord Shepherd,Jason Witty and all other challengers for as long as he did.Lots and lots of real hard racing for the entire race. Al slid up  the track one time but thats all Walters needed to get around him. Still one 75 lapper left this season at Sunset, maybe Al will finally hang on and win one,hes been close a few times so far this year. What can you say about Stompin Tom thou, three 75 lap invitationals and three hard fought invitational wins.Winning against some pretty stought feilds in all of them too. I think he also won the sat. night feature race also. He just seems to be getting stronger and stronger as the year goes on. I remember reading somewhere another nickname that people had for Stompin Tom Walters and i think its pretty close to accurate. I do beleive that it was "Mr Saturday Night". Pretty fitting considering the succsess hes had so far this year.Cant wait for next weekends racing as another sat.-sun. should be vantastic.
